We desperately need an electrician, our electrics ar eup the wall in this house....it is rented but the landlord just keeps fobbing us off saying the electrics are fine, so I have decided I am going to get them seen to and send the bill to the landlord!!! dh turned on the bathroom light and all the bedroom lights went out and now they wont work at all...we spent a whole year with no kitchen light as it suddenly stopped working, and started working again about a month ago!! The light in the toilet randomly stops working and flickers, we cant plug the washing machine into the socket behind it as the whole house trips, and it kept tripping when we were using the wallpaper stripper upstairs too. Oh and every now and then, even tho the kitchen light is working again, if I turn the dining room light on it turns off the kitchen light!!!! I don't think they are ok, stupid mr landlord!!!!!!

Hi mel....can u ring your local health & safety to come out and check it? My siste had a few things that were unsafe, she got Healthy & safety out and they sent a letter to her landlord to sort it out, even after she had been to the rental company numerous times about the problems!!?
    Carla-Farla!! :)

    Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is OK. I took Caitlin out to her fancy dress Xmas party today then broke down and got a flat tyre (well, I got a flat tyre because I broke down) so have had an eventful evening! We only have one car (DH bikes to work) so FIL had to pick up DH and come and rescue us. However, the car wasn't deemed safe enough for Caitlin and I to travel in so my friend's DH brought us home. DH got home OK in our car but got through another tyre, so that's two tyres plus a repair bill just before Xmas :-(

    Off to catch up now...

Wow, it's quiet on here tonight. I just went back to the main forum page to check that this thread hadn't been closed and another one opened as there hasn't been a post in over 30mins! Where is everyone?!?

Em - I had to use lactulose after having Caitlin. She was born on a Sunday and by the following Saturday I still hadn't been. I had half a spoon and within an hour was pooping. Sorry if TMI.

I hope MFD's Benjamin, Glam's Jack and Em's Seth are all feeling a bit better today.

Beenie - congratulations. Let us know when you decide a name!!!

    Maz - lovely name.

Tara - poor Ben. Is the swine flu the cause of the night terrors too?

Elle - what a !!!!! nurse. Do we get a pic of your hair?

Becles - hugs to you honey. Do you think DH forgets all the things your parents do for you all throughout the year?

MFD - Beatties!! I didn't know anywhere else had a Beatties (although ours is now owned by House of Fraser).

BM - did your dad answer the medical question. Did he ask about Keira at all (assuming you told him)?

SM - that cake looks YUMMY!

Mel - I think that sometimes the fire service will come out and look at your house for safety then do a report/list of work needed thing, so that might be worth looking into if your landlord refuses.

Hi team, just checking in, still reading the thread!
I absolutely don't remember everything I read today, but yay for a Beenie baby ;) and such quick work too!, good work Maz on settling for a name, and I hope Sugar's flight was untraumatic - a team-member from Germany came over to the UK today, was supposed to go last night but all flights from his airport were cancelled, then this morning's was delayed 3 hours before leaving.

Yay for Susan's return :D we missed you, I hope people said that :)

I know I read more interesting things but I have forgotten them :( sorry.

Prepping for an upset night, Elijah has both canines starting to show at the same time, had diarrhea probably as a result, and then tripped over on the hard kitchen tiles and SMACKED his nose into the floor, resulting in a nasty-looking scrape :/ we Calpoled before bed but I am not optimistic about him going all night without needing comfort, the poor little guy.

Oh - fingers crossed for no more sickness spreading Tara, and a quick recovery - anxious times :( and wow at Becles, that's really...passive-aggressive, must be some underlying issue unless he is usually a complete !!!! all the time? How upsetting.

Was a good idea about H&S Mel, I hope that turns out to be an option.
