Feel a bit down as I read a post OH made on his blog last night. I'm probably over-reacting as my period is due so I feel a bit tearful anyway.
Basically it has a go at "loved ones" who are difficult to buy for and are then disappointed with their present on Christmas day. I guess that is a dig at me as I'm the only person he buys a present for. I think it is because in his family, you pick one item and say I want that, and then it's bought for you. I don't like doing that as there's no surprise or fun wondering what's in your parcel. I have dropped plenty of hints about things I like or need though and I've never been disappointed with a present from him
Then he complains that Christmas Day might as well be a work day because he has to get up at 7am. That's because the children wake up then and want to go down and open their presents. It's cruel trying to keep them contained upstairs because he wants to sleep in.
Then he complains about my family arriving and he has to cook and serve food for them. It's a joint effort though - he's doing canapes and main course. I'm making the desserts, prepping the cheeseboard and the coffee with choccy mints.
So far in the run up to Christmas it's me who has cleaned the house, bought and wrapped all the presents for the children and relatives, put all the decorations up, bought all the food and drink. It's me who will have to brave the shops to get the fresh produce this week even though I've got loads of work on and he's "working from home" all week. It's me who has paid for all the gifts, food and drink too. Just feeling a bit under-appreciated after reading that and it's playing on my mind, but I don't want to say anything to him and have a row so close to Christmas, so thought I'd offload here. Sorry
Aww huni, I know you must be really upset and hurt but he wrote it in his blog, he didn't say it, which probably means he doesn't really mean half of it and just wants to vent and be a bit childish.
You could just say you saw what he wrote, you are a little hurt and that you do appreciate anything he buys, even if its a 20p scouring pad because he put time and effort into picking it for you. Or you could next year pick out a few things and let him pick one of them for you?
Although, moaning about getting up at 7am does deserve a smack! Tell him he knows fine well he enjoys seeing their happy faces.
I'm sure he didn't really mean it, I moan about things all the time that I do actually enjoy once I'm doing it (like getting up at 6am on Christmas day).
Want some Cinderella cake me dear?0 -
awww tara, poor wee guy. You just want to take it from them don't you?0

teehee glam. I think your fab just for letting BIL stay there's no way on earth I'd have BIL here esp with lil bubba - nothing wrong with my BIL but I don't wanna be seeing him everyday
top tip - never buy golden wonder not-a-pot-noodle they're poop!
Its wearing me down slowly - fingers crossed he'll start looking in the new year. I think I will end up saying 'U found anywhere to live yet or what?'
I'm going to say in the new year that ~I think the board needs to go up because £25 is nothing & probably the reason why he is still here!
becles - have a good cry it will make u feel better. Men just dont see the effort that goes into it all. BIL made a comment yday about having to smile when you get 'yet another Lynx set' - I told him if he went to the effort of telling people what he wanted he wouldnt get crap. Maybe you could give him a list of what you want & he can pick something from it.
I pick most of my pressies otherwise I get crap - I just hope no-one's got me jewellery. I have tons, never wear it & always say 'please no jewellery this year'but MIL just cant help herself :rolleyes:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

MM, my book is sitting amidst the pile of paperwork I've yet to sort out... I did give it a flick through but the images of spotless houses and children without chocolate spread moustaches put me off....Feel a bit down as I read a post OH made on his blog last night. I'm probably over-reacting as my period is due so I feel a bit tearful anyway.
this is all very odd, the baby monitor came this morning, we've never had one, and i find it weird hearing him moan on there while he goes off to sleep! i cant work out if he needs me to go to him or if thats what he normally does, i just dont normally hear it :rotfl: it is fab though, the sound is crystal clear! really pleased with it! trying not to use all the fancy gadgets on it though like talk back and lullaby cos i dont want him to get used to it!!Mummy to

aww becles, maybe he was just having a moment or exagerating to make it entertaining.xxxx
Glam is that £25 a week or month? any idea how much a house share would cost him? I can't remember what my sis used to pay:think:0 -
em - which one is it? SOunds slike BT 150 which I have. THe sound quality is amazing and I love the Talk Function. I did use the lullabies to get him off to sleep but now he's back downstairs with us although he will fall asleep on his own most nights. Once OH goes back to work in January I WILL put him in cot - deja vu :rolleyes:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Which monitor is that Em?
I actually got my monitors out yesterday... Only because of Caitlyn being so mobile and leaving her sleeping on the bed I'm nervous of not hearing her wake up before she goes rolling off... However... The on button isn't working very well.. Which is very annoying... They worked fine until I lent them to someone last year... :annoyed:A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
