  • Evening all. Bad mummy tonight - have put Izzy to bed without getting her changed :o.

Was having a bad day - desparate for sleep, but Izzy was fighting it, and I was getting upset, so called DH to see if he could look after her in town seeing as he had a half day. Cue huge drama because he "wanted to have some me time after having a bad week". (What happened to the sensative boy I met all those years ago? Oh yes I remember, he dumped me, then I met DH :rotfl:.) Anyway, got sorted in the end, so dropped her in and came home for a nap, then went back to join them for tea. (2 for £10 :money:, so not too bad.)

So daft baby had no sleep whatsoever all day. She did however have lots of fun, and stole some chips :) So tired when we came in I brought her straight in from the car and into bed. And seeingas I've already eaten tea I don't know what to do with myself now!

Once I've cleared up from lunch (one of those days I'm afraid) will have a catch up. And that graze box isn't going to eat itsself either.

I hope everyone else is ok!

  • I know Weezl - I pointed this out! He is now being apologetic, and saying he will take her to the allotment in the morning if it isn't raining, which sounds like a daft idea to me - I've told him he is getting up with her at 6am so I can have a lie in though!

Oh, I should point out, I changed her bum just before we came home - it is just that she is still in her daytime clothes, not that she is sleeping in a soggy nappy - I'm not quite that much of a naughty mummy ;).

interesting article about women returning to work after having children

    xxx

That is exactly why I plan to start doing my KIT days in the new year. I'm planning to do two a month from Feb until I go back in July. I don't want to be forgotten about at work, and I don't want to get totally behind on new developments and changes. I love being a Mummy, but I already know I want to go back three days a week (if work agree to reduced hours, of course).

    Interesting article, thanks Weezl!

Baby now snoozing and dinner in the oven. So far, so good!

I'm itching (mentally, not physically!) to know what's going to happen with my job.. Will email my colleague who's sorting it next week but have to appreciate her mum just passed away so she'd probably working at full speed right now and they do have a while to sort it yet! If I'm changing jobs, I might see if I can do half my KIT days with the old dept sooner rather than later and then half with my new boss just before I start back..

    Good plan GISI :)

I was a bit gutted to discover I can only afford to do the KIT days if they are in the unpaid part of my maternity leave, and even more so with baby number 2. But very glad you have worked out a way where you can do more of yours :) Glad work are amenable too, mine were only up for a max of 4 days :(
