Vodaphone problems what to do. Help!
Long story get yourself a cuppa!
I purchased a new Vodaphone contract on sept 26th after leaving O2 for a better deal.(£20 per month unlimited texts and 300 mins cross network) I didnt have the pac code so i chose a new number that was good as it had lots of 7's in it! I took the phone home but left it in its box as i still had a week of O2 usuage to use. Anyway around 2am im woken by a loud phone ringing and thought it was next doors phone in the consevatory as its so quiet in out area you can hear anything. Anyway i was woken again at 3, then 3.30 and it went on til i got up at 5 o clock because i couldnt sleep. I made a cuppa then was frightened to death as the phone i bought started ringing from the box. I looked and the phone number calling was 1234567890. ???. I had 2 voicemails left but were a foreign person so i couldnt understand. I took the phone back to the store told them i didnt want a phone that im going to get bombarded with calls so you can have it back. Obviously im in a 2 yr contract so she said they wont take it back. I said im sorry but the phone is near enough faulty i shouldnt be recieving calls before ive even given my number out to friends. She phoned vodaphone and they gave me a random number to replace the one i wanted. I said its not good enough but was sent on my way as im in a contract but as a good will gesture ill give you one month line rental free. (to me i havent got what i wanted so its mis-sold isnt it??)
I called voda who was very helpful and apologetic for the mistake. By this time i had the pak code from o2 so the the guy on the phone said how about we put you on a new contract with your old number and ill put on your account to return your phone to a shop. Great i thought. New phone arrives all godd i pack the old one and take it to the vodapahoe shop. "Im not taking it back its nothing to do with me" is the responce from the store manager. So i call voda back and the guy on the other end says "you have been mis sold the second phone you shouldn't have been told you could return the first phone, all we can do is return the second phone and cancel that contract or you will be charged for two lines"
So a bag arrives i pack the phone and post it. I call voda back and ask if they have recieved the phone to which they couldnt tell me so will call me back. I never got a call back......but i did get a bill for £54. I phoned them again and asked what the charges were for. "the 3 lines you have plus call charges sir" I told them i only have one line and i get 300 mins free a month!! so they said take your bank statement to a vodaphone shop and get a refund or we'll credit your account and cancel the other 2 lines.
I opted for the credit option as i dont have time to travel into the city centre. I called back today just to make sure the account has been credited etc but no. Nothing has been done at all and there is no notes on the account whatsoever explaining the mix up from the start even though everytime ive phoned they say they'd put a note on the account as to what status the account was at. I feel im in my own right to be able to return the phone and cancel all together as voda have mixed it up from the start. Where do i stand with this??
sorry for the length.
