SE K750i Phone language

I'm wondering, on the k750i, on the option of 'According to sim', if I insert a foreign sim (btw, phone is unlocked), say Chinese, would the phone language be in Chinese?

And also, is there a way to install writing language (e.g. Chinese) without taking the phone to places where they install the phone software again? I don't trust those places... can't do anything if they accidentally scratch the screen!

Cheers! :j

you cannot install a chinese language without re-flashing the whole phone with a chinese main and language pack. you cannot add chinese to a european language pack phone.

btw, if i scratched a screen whilst working on it i would replace it, as i hope any normal business would, please don't tare us all with the same brush.

there are some very good mobile phone repairers/unlockers and some very bad ones who think anyone can do it. you get work from your reputation not from being cheap.

Cheers James, thanks for you tip. About the 'according to sim' option, would the phone at least display Chinese if there is a Chinese sim card?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

I'm afraid not if the langauge is not installed on the phone.

The main firmware has to match the language pack. You cannot flash a chinese language pack to a european (main) phone. For chinese (main) phones you only get the english and chinese language, this is also the case for most asian countries.

People have also mentioned that its a standard chinese language not the simply one, if that means anything to you.

Thanks again James. There are Simplified and Traditional Chinese, just the characters are a bit different. Paid fiver to install chinese on k500i a few years back, but thought this time I can get away with it :p
