dont be done and do a good deal- TELL THEM IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH THE DEAL THEY OFFER

Options
 just recently been to phones4u shop where we normally get our mobile's from and I think I got myself a good deal by just telling them basically what i wanted.

We needed at least 500 mins xnetwork anytime and around 100txt.... We were currently paying 40 per month with Vodaphone for 350 mins with no txt..
the first deal the c/s came up with was 500 mins and I think 200 txt for £35 per month 18mth contract but just £17.50 for the first 6 month...

I said it wasnt good enough and off he went. We did say we would try any network he came back with the 3network and offered us 600mins xnetwork 400txt and video message and other bits on that network for £22.50 per month for the first 6month and the next 12month at £35 ( he did tell us at that time because we only wanted 500 mins we could phone and reduce our tariff 500mins £30per month)
I had was a little cheaky and said that if he could do the £22.50 for 12month then it was a done deal knowing he would want to negotiate- (I was quite happy with the deal he had given but just thought i'd try my luck)
I was quite happy when he came back and said that couldn't do it but what they would do was give us £67.50 there and then which would in effect make it 9 months at £22.50 (which was even better as cash as we will be reducing our tariff after the 6 months) AND NOT ONLY THAT but theyt would for the forst 6 months give us double mins and txts
WHAT A DEAL but I couldnt leave it there and cheakily said and what about that bluetooth headset we need one of those!!!!! smiled niceley and said "I havent been to any other of the phone shops you know- and some are offering tvs" The manager just said if we do it now we could. So we did. Everyone is happy.... a new nokia 2680 and a much better deal than we have and business for the shop.....

GREAT SERVICE BYE THE WAY FROM THE PHONES4U SHOP IN BOLTON.

I would imagine chatter-box-charlie meant the Nokia 6280, and if so, that was a very good bargain!

all they are doing is the same deals as all the other shops are doing. The only difference is the instant cashback, online it would be higher cashback or a free gift instead. i.e e2save would have given you the same deal but instead of the £67.50 they'd give you a 2GB Ipod Nano or a Sony PSP Gigapack or £300 cashback, but you'd have more risk potentially. If you go armed with the web deals you can at least barter even more, if the web can make profits and offer £300 back, then you know that the £67.50 and bluetooth headset still leaves a healthy chunk for the shop
  • I did mean the 6280 lol......

I know the web does offer better deals but I do prefere to speak and deal with people in the shops and also alot of the deals through the internet are nearly all "claim your money back at intervals" which can be a bit of a pain and youve just gotta watch who you buy from......

I'm bl0000dy paying roughly about £35-40 per month with orange for 200minutes and 1000 free texts. Think I'll switch over to three is these are the deals they are offering.

to be honest yes they are all offering quite good deals but if you go in and tell them that you want a better deal and just keep saying you want something better or just go in and tell them what you want and want to pay for what min's and txt and they will do their best to match it- but you do need to say im ready to do the deal here and now.... I personnally dont like buying things like this n the net in case i get scammed so i did my reasearch of what i wanted and let them do the rest.

Of course always add a little extra on and take off some money for your tariff because you know they will barter with you but if you are happy with a deal then take it. Also worth remembering if they offer you a better deal on a higher package say £60 per month check that you can reduce it after 3 months so if like mine they offered me higher package at half price for somany months with double mins that is when i'll reduce my tariff
because in all honesty we dont need that many anyway

good luck and let us know how you get on
