Cancelling new contract?
Options
Hello. Im in need of some help. I took out a new contract with orange through Phone4u on the 16th of october. But since then my partner has been made redundent from her job , which means cut backs. As my contract is £35 a month it really has to go. Can i cancel my contract within a certain amount of time or am i too late? Please any advice is greatly appreicated.
thanks Alan

You'll be too late to cancel the contract, you can check with orange to see if you can reduce the tariff but this is usually after a set length of time. When buying a mobile contract its best to think that you are agreeing to pay out the full amount of the contract rather than the cost per month.0

The 17th October was too late if you bought in store.0

Im sorry you are too late to cancel, you should only take out contract if you can afford to actually pay the whole length in one go in case of changes in your circumstances. (£35 over 24 months = £840), and if you can't then use PAYG.
Some places do offer utpo 14 day cancellation periods, and online orders get 5/7days. All i can suggest is to ring up orange and ask to be put thought to a hardship team.
You can generally reduce the tariff (amount you pay per month) but only after 1/2 way though the contracts, such as 9/12 months.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
