Cost of wedding shoes

There have been a couple of threads recently about wedding shoes and it's come up a few times that people aren't willing/don't want to spend more than £50 on a pair.

This has got me thinking, is this just for wedding shoes? Or does this apply to all shoes that you wear?

What's the most you've ever spent on a pair of shoes? What's the least you've spent?

For the right pair of non wedding shoes I dont care how mutch I pay if they are perfect for what I need. Even though I will always look in the sale first

With my wedding shoes however I am currently begrudging paying £30.00! I can never wear them again and probably wont want to. To me they are a hassle as no one will be able to see them!

Least I've ever spent on shoes is £15.00, they were leather knee high boots reduced from £120!! I held onto them for dear life as I walked to the till as they were such a bargain!!!!!

It really depends how much I have to spend at the time, how desperatly I want/need them

This also goes for my daughters shoes too!

The last pair I bought were silver Diesel trainers/pumps they were £50

I have just got a bargain for DD's I got 2 pairs of trainers (Adidas and Red by marc Ecko) and a pair of mary jane kickers for a grand total of £61 because they were 3 for 2. But an average of £20 per pair is not at all bad

I've never gone over £40 for a pair of shoes

For the wedding i have a pair of satin court shoes £10 from ebay and some platform trainers that are the same height as the shoes £30 from the USA

I think with people who don't want to spend a lot on wedding shoes, feel that they will only be worn the once, plus with a long dress, it's not as if they will be on show for the whole day.

Over the years, I think the most expensive pair of shoes I have bought were £60 and £120 for boots, but obviously I've worn those more than once.

The least I have spent on shoes is £1.04 and they were brand new Next silver diamonte sandals from eBay.

The shoes I have for the wedding are Next cherished bridal shoes which are brand new and cost me £4.99 from eBay (lady bought 3 pairs for her wedding but only wore one pair), but I've got my eye on a coloured pair of shoes which are £30 which I might get instead. (the price didn't matter with these ones, I would have been happier to pay more as they are what I like) and with them being coloured, I would wear them again.

I saw a pair of Jimmy Choo's that I really liked for my wedding. I'm not really a shoe or handbag person, and I live in trainers. I decided against the £450 Jimmy Choo's as I saw an almost identical pair in Faith for £50, so I snapped those up. I wore them through the ceremony and the meal, and then after that I changed into a pair of trainers that were white, black and pink (the colours of our wedding) which I paid £65 for, so I paid more for the trainers than my wedding shoes, lol. I was much more comfortable in them, too.

After the day, I chucked the shoes out a they looked a bit grubby, but I've still got the trainers. Generally, with shoes, I don't pay much. I pay more for trainers as I live in those. Think the most I've paid for going out shoes was £130, but as I don't wear them that often I can't really justify spending loads.

Hi there I wanted shoes for the wedding which I can wear again. I found some never worn ones on Ebay for £2 which are perfect. I would have gone up to £20 for my wedding shoes but everyone loves a bargain! xxx

Nothing yet, as I haven't bought any. I haven't even really looked, but I suppose I better had do.
I don't think I've got a budget as such, although I'm not going to spend hundreds. I just want something I can walk in, have had a few problems with my feet since the baby, and hopefully I can choose something that I might be able to wear again.

I know what you mean, the coloured ones I would love are really high and I don't think I would be able to wear them all day and night. Wouldn't even be able to take them off in the evening without my dress trailing all over the floor and with OH being 6'5, I'd really need my shoes on for the first dance lol!

I think I had better stay with comfort rather than looks which is a pity :cool:

I was quite willing to spend anything to get a nice pair of wedding shoes - hoewver, the only ones that ticked all the boxes were £34.99!! I love them. Luckily they're at my parents house so I can't sit and play with them all day.

My friend was dying for me to buy some Jimmy Choos but when the heel is higher than 2.5 inches I start walking like I'm sozzled, even though I'm usually the designated driver! I did not feel that this would be a good look going down the aisle!!

My wedding shoes were £25 from the Next bridal range. They can easily be worn again, just ivory strappy sandals with dragonfly on. Most I have spent on shoes is £90 for a pair of red or dead shoes but I am a bit of a shoe nut :rolleyes:
