...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Morning all,
Just surfacing from the Halloween party last night. We got very drunk and played "Have you ever...?" (Not very different from in here, reading back.
) I give up at about 11 and went to bed as I was freezing. Even with a nylon cape and witches hat, wearing a corset and skirt wasn't a good idea in that weather. Yes, pics will be posted as soon as I can find out who took them.
I'm just waiting for Bookie to answer Buffy's post last night about Halloween. I'm sure I misinterpreted that 'commercialisation of evil' comment from last night. Bookie's always struck me as an intelligent woman and certainly not the type to think that Pagans are evil. I'm sure I just read the post wrong, that's all.

I certainly didn't mean that pagans are evil!
I just think that the commercial industry has latched on to another money making opportunity which unfortunately focuses on the dark side. I'm all for a laugh and dressing up etc, I just think it's all gone too far.
Hallowe'en is actually all hallow's eve. The day before All Saint's Day but dressing up as a saint would not have the same money making appeal I expect. :rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry if I offended anyone.0 -
Buffy............Way to go girl:T
Nowt like a good old snog with a random bloke to lift your spirits.........not that I would have a clue about that like:ABut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

You didn't offend me, I was just a little worried there. You seemed too smart for that sort of thing, that's all. And you've got a point on it not making as much money, though someone did show up as a priest to our Halloween party last night. All the other people were dressed as witches, I think he missed the memo. :rotfl:

I believe in the right of the individual to make their own decisions. When we talk about Halloween to the Brownies I always mention that it can be fun but to be careful and respectful of people's privacy etc. I also tell them about Nov 1st so thay get a balance.
Well done to the vicar guy. :rotfl: Maybe he did get the memo. Sort of thing I would do actualy although I do have a witch hat somewhere.
Anyway - enough for one year.
My legs still won't work properly and I have a backache again. Going to go see my pumpkin for a bit.0 -
Bookie, I want your pumpkin.
News on the Pint front: yesterday he stayed in with me in the evening and we watched The Incredible Hulk (new film) And then he tried to help me shower.....
Today, since we've got up we've been cleaning! I did the lounge and part of the kitchen and bedroom, he's done the bathroom and downstairs loo and is going to do the rest of the floors. Thnik I may have got through to him......
And yes, it is horrible weather here, but the Abu Dhabi GP is on and I have work to do, so we'll both be occupied...apart from the necessity of shopping later.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
