Cheaper calls to/from mobiles abroad???

Hi,
Going to Spain for a few days, will be bringing my 02 mobile (on prepaid tariff, 75mins inclusive per month).I know - I should be bringing my wife/girlfriend/partner instead!!!!!
Want to avoid getting cheap calls to/from a mobile and avoid the mobile rip-off, I've checked out sim4travel.co.uk (and the similar products), I've tried to get through to 02 Customer Services to ask them about some feature they offer where I can pay £2-3 per month and get cheaper calls. Family will be calling me from UK - any smart prefixes they can use while I'm roaming to cut costs?
Second trip later this year with family (France for couple of weeks) so doubtless my wife will be ringing home. On Honeymoon, she ran up £160 on the mobile!!! Want to avoid this again (though of course kept my cool on Honeymoon!) Is there a fix which I can use for both trips? Perhaps I would be better arranging the cheap calls feature with 02 for the short trip to Spain then going for sim4travel etc for the 2nd (longer) trip? Or would sim4travel work on both trips? What do you think? I don't want to be a ripped-off Muppet again this year! Talking off which, see my earlier post today re prepay charges to try and save yourself some money.
