Using it in Southern Ireland will almost certianly be classed as international use, not sure about Northern Ireland.
Best thing to do is Phone Orange and ask. You signed up for 18months so to get out you'll have to pay a termination fee. If you phone them now and notify them then call when you really do leave they may be sympathetic, just doing it when you are about to leave probably will elict a different response. It will also depend on when you leave, if it was to be tommorow they would almost cetainly charge a fee to leave, if it's in month 15,16,17 then they may have more leeway. You say it's not defination, it may be you'll ge tto the 18 month point before you go, in which case this is irrelevnet.
The other option would be to downgrade your tarrif to the lowest you can, but that depends on the contrct you signed as to when that is possible. Ot if you have a relative you can trust pass the phoen to them, so whislt you'll still have to pay they'll get some use of the inclusive minutes.0 -

My tarriff was £35 a month, but due to rubbish signal around my area and calls constantly dropping, Orange reduced it to £25 for me.
I have just checked on orange website and the whole of Ireland is considered abroad
This is what the charges are for ireland

The whole of the Republic of Ireland is charged at roaming rates as it is not part of the UK, the whole of Northern Ireland is charged at your normal rate/comes out of your allowance as it is part of the UK.
If you are going to be in Northern Ireland but near the border you may pick up networks from the Republic so best to do a manual network selection and make sure you are connected to a UK network.0 -
OP needs to advise whether they are moving to Northern Ireland or ROI.
If NI, carry on as normal.
If ROI, then they will need to pay an early termination fee or (better) try and sell the remaining contract onto a friend.
They won't let you cancel early without charge because you choose to leave the country I'm afraid. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Maybe you can pay orange for a roaming package, so that some roaming calls are included, otherwise you may as well terminate which will cost the remainder of your contract.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

Hi the area is called drogheda just outside dublin:happyhear0 -
Drogheda was well inside the ROI last time I checked. So if you use it there you'll be on roaming rates. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Maybe a friend or relative would take over your contract, if so I believe you should be able to transfer the contract over to them.0
