Hello all! Woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so thought I'd get up and see if I can do some studying. Hope everyone's well.
So, anyone got any good ideas for the 4 hours downtime later?

Hi Ames,
I`ve been awake since 3am for some reason.
Have now started first 12hr shift out of 6.
By the time downtime comes I`ll be so tired I`ll either be a right mardy c** or I`ll be hysterical.0 -
Morning all, I wont be around at the downtime so I shall be OK:D
Last day for me to get caught up at work, I have had a tip off that managers are doing spot checks on classes over the next few weeks before the official observation cycle kicks in so I dont want them to have any excuse to pull me up on anything:mad:
Anyone going to any Halloween parties then? But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Morning all
Only just noticed the downtimes for today  Luckily I've got my parents visiting for the day so I'm not likely to be on again till everything should be back up and running.
Loved the dresses on last nights thread....Spud I caught the end of Location and saw that dress and thought "wow - me like"...and like you, I've not worn a dress since my wedding day (and that was black velvet)
Need to work a miracle on the house to get it tidy before parents arrive, already prepped dinner (doing a roast)....It was my dads birthday a couple of days ago so I've made birthday cake and jelly and ice cream for pud..he'll be a happy man.
Hope you all have a fab day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning Ames and all
I thought for one small second that I might just get a lie in this morning....who was I trying to kid hey!
I need some advice from people with dogs (spud and whoever else). I have been offered a Lab puppy and both Bea and I would LOVE it. I just don't know if the time is right, whether I truley know the commitment to having a dog, whether we can afford it and lastly whether we really have enough space (Never have enough but could we manage). Grrr why couldn't we have a bigger house, bigger gardent and OH have a flipping job. So dog owners fill me in and help me make the right decisionI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I guess the main things to consider is can you afford the dog:
Food, vets bills/insurance, initial equipment.
Do you have enough room? labradors are not the smallest of breeds and they can be a bit naughty all puppies can be destructive.
Do you have someone to look after the dog when you are away?
On the other hand they bring joy into your life and are great for walks and playing in the park, also great company.
Difficult oneBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
4 hours! :eek::eek::eek: I might have to iron.:eek::rotfl:
Good morning all. Absolutely shattered and full of cold. Still never mind. Today I am having a day off from Guiding and just pottering around.
Must fetch new specs though.0 -
Pooky, it was a fab dress wasnt it. I'm definitely going to find one similar and have a go. I might look orrible, but I WILL try.
Sally, the commitment is huge. A couple of days this week, we've fancied going places we cant take her. She has separation anxiety so we wont leave her, hence we havent gone to the places we wanted to go. We wont leave her to go on holiday etc either. She goes where we go, and if she cant, we either dont go, or one of us stays home. Other dogs arent like that, and can be kennelled for a week or 2 or left for a day, so please dont think she's the norm.
That said, we all love her, and really dont mind. I think growing up caring for and loving a pet is fantastic for kids. They dont need much space, and ours isnt big on playing in the garden. She prefers a nice long walk somewhere, and loves a day at the beach. One thing I would mention is vet bills. Insurance is a good idea. For us, insurance was over £40 per month, but she's classed as a high risk breed. You could easily get a quote to find out how much it would be for a LabIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Morning all!
Feeling good today - got loads of work to do but am off to Leeds this evening for a relaxing weekend with OH so that always makes me cheerful!
My parcel arrived yesterday but no one was in - so they are going to redeliver today which is annoying and pointless since I still wont be in *sigh* will have to hope they take it to the depot now rather than return it!0
