Believe me I'd sleep if I could, unfortunately by 4 o'clock every morning I'm wide awake. I should probably add that my neighbour works for a transport company & leaves for work around 4ish, part of his job description seems to be the requirement that he moves a couple of very large & heavy items downstairs, by bumping them they down every step of their staircase on his way out the door, hence my 4am wakeup call
HH, have you tried sponge earplugs? They have them in Boots, I think they are for travelling...but my OH wears earplugs regularly to block out my snoring0 -
Hello everybody,
I did the floors this morning and made a batch of biscuits. OS rang early to say DH could pick up DGS when he finished work so that was a lovely surprise. Been playing Leggo & outside all afternoon. Went to the club for tea and he's sound asleep now.
High tide is 8am here tomorrow so we're going to the island across from us tomorrow at 10am. It has a lovely little beach & it's really great for kids. Ours is very rocky & muddy. Might take Benny with us. Tomorrow night there is a Halloween Party down at the park between 6 - 8 pm so I'll have to put my thinking cap on what to dress DGS in. Thinking along the lines of a ghost. TBH Halloween has never been big in Oz. It was always an american thing but seems to be the thing here now. Anyway he should love it.
Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those that need them. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Afternoon all
Dull again today but not cold,
Washing out on the line, dont know whether it will dry but will at least smell nice and fesh.
Everything done, had lunch, Dinner tonight is pasta bake then yoghurt.
All very boring but filling and I'm in a sort of "do I have to" mood
hence the ironing going back in the airing cupboard
Arthritis is acting up a bit today hands achy and stiff so will get the crochet out and have a go at that, it does ease it sometimes and if not I will just watch a film or read a book, can't possibly iron
Diva - glad Tris is in touch. Hope you manage the extra for the car
floss - yes they are really good I had some given me on a flight ages ago and always take them away with me, for when OH snores
Aussie - Halloween was never very big over here either but seems to have really got popular over the last few years, so a big dish of sweetie type stuff is on the hall table ready for the T or T'ers. Only problem is keeping OH out of them, if I dont watch him he will nibble away until they have all gone:rotfl:
Diana - I'm sure it does'nt it's just the nose returning
Better go make a cuppa

Afternoon all.
Posting quickly, before the forum goes down for its upgrade.
Still 'orribly tired - got back with Molly Dog from her walk at 08:00, flaked out on the sofa, and that was the last I knew til 10:30:eek::eek::eek: Bloomin' consultant has something to answer for; I'm more convinced than ever that its the mucking about with my meds that's throwing me though a loop.
Anyway, the sloe wine has been put into a demijohn, so that's a good job jobbed, as my grandmother would've said.
Doing mushroom risotto for tonight's dins, and we'll use up the last of the carrot'n'orange cake for pud.
I probably won't be around next week; Mr LW has some leave to use up, so we'll be having days out and relaxing (lupus permitting).
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all:wave:
I've had a lovely day. A walk up the Malverns followed by lunch at a pub. We all ate far too much- I had fabulous battered cod and chips and bread and butter pudding-stodgy but good. To redress the balance I made a salmon salad for supper. Bowls of salad veg topped with chunks of baked salmon and drizzled with hm sour and hot damson dipping sauce. Just the job. Me and OH really enjoy main course salad meals, I must make them more often.0 -
Chicken curry for dinner tonight. (chicken was on offer at £2 - should have been £4.38) Only 1 DD and myself eating at home tonight, everyone else is out.
I need to get more motivated, I have a mountain of things I need to do, but all I seem to achieve these days are the necessary and sleep and work...

Good evening,
I'm on a roll today. I went to Asda and bought and cooked a chicken, and I've made 9 portions of lamb and veg stew for George (all now in the freezer). I didn't actually eat the chicken yet, but I defrosted an apple pie and cooked that while the oven was on. I took that along to my friends, so she provided the main course, and I provided dessert.
My interest in all things financial is starting to reappear. I sort of lost interest in the old style money saving thing when my life went pear shaped, but it's coming back, and I'm pleased. If I am to survive and continue rebuilding our house I will need to be both wise and cautious.
Tonight, a very kind person brought me all of Paul's luggage and personal effects all the way from Portsmouth, where it was sent from Brize Norton (he lives near here, but kindly made the extra trip). I am once again touched by people's kindness and thoughtfulness in my time of need. I unpacked his stuff, took out what I needed and I've put the rest away again for now. It's still hard to believe that my lovely husband isn't coming home, but the support that I'm receiving from my friends and cyber friends is helping me so much.
Take care all of you.0 -
DGS2 had his birthday party to-day in one of the party venues so I took DGS1 and then OH and I went shopping before going back for the cake and 'crowning' of the birthday boy as king for the day...all the children had great fun and it was much easier than trying to fit 9 extra children into a house on what has been a very wet day here.
Hugs to all who are not well or who need or want one for any reason.
Jayne, you are a wonderful woman, coping so well with the tragedy which has hit you and George....special hugs for you both...and for Pixel of course.
