I've heard that they sift through the rubbish sometimes...... :-)
I know this is not helpful but don't they have a special section for these things?
Anyway, I recommend that you and not the boyfriend goes down.
Even if the outer casing is damaged, a computer repair outfit should be able to recover the data. Or have you been? How did it go?

yes i believe they need to have a special section for computer towers as they need to be broken down as theres components that contain chemicals and they need to be recycled due to the enviromental guidlines

Computers contain lead, mercury, copper and cadmium. They may have to be disposed of in particular ways, rather than being slung on the council tip with the tatties and tomatoes.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

If the boyfriend just chucked it into the landfill section with the rest of the carp, then there's not a hope in hell of recovering it.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

People should eat carp they taste fine.

I'd bet some worker there took it home for his kids....a perk of the job if it's a decent condition?

Sad thing to do..I did this with my digital camera ...cat knocked into the aste bin and I left it till morning as I was tired, in the morning that bin was emptied and the bi men had been early...gutted. My own fault..we live and learn the hardest ways sometimes :(

    Hope you were luckier.
