I always buy my beer from my local shop, if out of date and the beer is off you get your money back but never had to do this yet.
Also sometimes a beer brand changes the design of the bottle or can, these are also sold off cheap but still within date or sometimes wholesalers just want to get rid of the last cases of wine or beer.0 -

I've done a quick spreadsheet with all the various deals on and I reakon that Asda is the best... for example buy the right fosters deal and it works out at 90p a litre, budweiser (stubbies) for 1.33 a litre and stella bottles 1.41 per litre.... also, VHF is a good price if your into that (1.61 a litre)... The way I see it, the size of the cans, etc, etc is irrelevant - it's the litres that matter.
?
There are so many bottle/can sizes (plus the size of the pack) around that just deliberately? confuses everyone into thinking they have the best deal. Okay if you buy a 4 pack of 500ml Fosters on a regular basis, but how many of you like jprice organise a bash and find that the good old supermarkets have bull!!!!ted you into paying more than you should. Any pick & mix of any two packs for say, £20 (and a perceived saving of a fiver) should be looked at suspiciously as it is more than likely that if it is like our Asda with a current promotion on Stella & Budweiser, both are different bottle sizes.
Yes you have got to shop around but you don’t necessary need a spreadsheet just a cheap calculator from the Pound Shop. Then calculate the size by quantity and then divide that by the case price, as follows;
Budweiser at Sainsbury’s - 330 x 10 = 3.3 litres divided by £6.49 makes that £1.96 a litre
However if you buy the .300ml size (but packed in 20’s) the same Budweiser again from Sainsbury’s now works out at £1.83 a litre, so who’s kidding who?
Any price that falls within the area of £1.50 a litre sounds great to me and is worth hunting around for especially as some beers are hideously expensive and you think rightly so because they are imported – sorry that is not true as most are now brewed in the UK under licence.
PS Just got back from Sainsbury's where I note that they kindly price the beers & lagers by the litre, so thank you Sainsbury's
PPS oh and another thing; you may not see all the multipacks of beers all together in one place in the supermarket so that you can do an instant price comparison. Clever !!!!!!s put them all over the place so that you cannot do that!
Now who is the saddest jprice - you or I?0 -
