Thanks, I will give it a go and let you know how it goes! My only other thought was to see if I could borrow another slow cooker....I have had 2 on the go before when I have had a crowd to feed! I hate mass catering, I go all to pieces!0

If you put it in a dish with a good fitting lid into the oven at a low heat, it will slow cook just the same .I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

It was fine! Tight fitting lid at 140C and it didn't dry out at all. Many thanks for the advice0

Hi OldStylers
I cooked a huge chicken casserole in my slow cooker today using drumsticks and thighs expecting to feed the masses and found out it will only be me.
We will be able to eat it tomorrow but I can't think how to re-heat it and I am always a bit nervous of chicken.
Should I take the chicken off the bone, cool it and refrigerate overnight?
And could I put it in a casserole in the oven for 30 or 40 minutes tomorrow to warm through?
Thanks in advance for any help!:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
You can keep the chicken on the bone, or remove it - neither makes any difference
As long as you cool it quickly and safely, and reheat until piping hot then you have nothing to worry about.
You could reheat it in a pot slowly, in the microwave or of course, in the oven. Once it is piping hot through it is safe to eatYou can also safely freeze it for future meals
Ill merge this with reheating quick qs later
