World wide travel and they do not know their own address, what hope have you got. Do not touch with a bargepole.
  • Just back from Hatton where we sat through a 3 hour sales pitch. The letter we had originally from World Wide Travel said not "Time share" but the free holiday was so that we would pass on the good reports and so encourage others to use their products. No...not the case. What you are being asked to do is to buy a "fractional ownership" in a yacht. You can swap your "fraction" for holidays at resorts around the world at discounted prices. You are finally told the cost...and offered an unsecured loan through Barclays. We said no. As for the free holiday for just for turning up?? it's through Sugar Reef, guess what..Timeshare. No thanks.

Ah it's that mob. Also known as Shakespeare Marketing or something like that.

There have been a number of distressed folk posting on here about how they were fooled into buying part of a yacht.

You did well to steer clear.
  • thank you for this post. just had a call from this company, saying i have won a holiday, blah blah, blah, exactly as original poster has decribed. and although i have booked the appointment, i was sceptical from the beginning and being aware that this could be a timeshare scam was very careful not to give any info.
i have checked their 'website' and also checked on here. i am so glad that i have all the info needed and that i will not be wasting my time in going.
i must remember to not complete those survey's at shopping centres etc - in this case Mell Square, Solihull; and their 'offices' being near Birmingham airport.

Oh Be fair! They are not selling timeshare - they are selling outright purchase holiday homes so they did not lie when told "not timeshare"! ! !

Just think, A yacht can sink! Anyone fancy a swimming holiday?

  • I too have begun to research this company as I worked for them for a couple of weeks. Stay well clear. They treat their staff like dog **** and therefore have no problems treating their possible customers worse.
It even appears that they don't even own the yachts they try to timeshare out.
I am owed commissions from them but doubt I shall get them, in any case I would rather contact my customers I sold to and advise them to cancel.
It's just another version of timeshare.
  • Oh by the way, you are always contacted by a marketing company, which is hired by the "fractional ownership" company. Even I am not sure what the actual name of the fractional ownership/timeshare company I worked for is! They claim to own narrow boats named Shakespeare, river boat cruisers moored in the Thames, three yachts moored in Marmaris Turkey, named Dames De La Mer (they have four cabins so who knows who you will be spending your week stuck on a boat with - as you only get one cabin). I don't know much more as the reps are not allowed to take home any information with them and we are not allowed to use computers to research at the offices. Personally I am taking them to court for various employment violations, (such as encouragement to lie, humiliate customers, insult customers, keep them for at least 2 and a half hours etc) If I can help other people avoid being victims - great for all of us.
With regards to their staff, they bully, harass, intimidate, threaten, insult, belittle, discriminate (according to age, looks, nationality etc) and humiliate so guess what they will do to their "customers".
Oh, and your "free vacation" involves - yes another timeshare tour. For which you pay GBP49 each person for. I hope this helps people that are wondering if they should go.
  • bucsbunny - as you worked for them is there anyway of getting out of these agreements? We have paid a £500 deposit and they are after us for the rest - we have a couple of weeks to pay the balance or they are taking us to court.

This company is using several names - Dames de la Mer, Shakespeare Classic Line, Country Break, etc and all operate from the same address at Hatton. They have found a loop hole to get round the timeshare laws and once you sign you don't get a cooling off period.

We feel very stupid about this now but they are obviously very good at their jobs as it all made sense and as we do take a few holidays it seemed ideal :(
  • PS Dames de la Mer is a trading name of Shakespeare Classic Line Ltd Reg No 3412246 - does anyone know if this is legal?

To have a trading name is legal, yes.
