and found this one.

I was told to post this here, all I am after is some where to advertise my shop

It's hardly spam as it's pretty well on topic, and there is no evidence that he's posted in a load of other, irrelevant places.

Also, he has been a participating member here for some time and has an very high thanks/post ratio.

I agree - definitely not Spam.
It is a breach of forum rules, though. Have a read of the THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO ADVERTISE GOODS FOR SALE thread at the top of the page to see why.

A Better Way has already gone the way of other free classified sites. Full of adverts for !!!!!! and pyramid scams.

You may not have thought it was spam, but others might have done.

Just pointing out that it didn't really qualify.
