It was by card and i'm pretty sure they have my old card number as it was replaced early September as my bank transferred the debit cards to the new swipe pay ones.

I've just checked with HBOS and the old card was cancelled at the end of September. Can QQ still claim payments from it or set up direct debits where they have my account number ?

Thanks for the replies. I'm slowly going mad with all of this :(
  • I'm pretty sure it's illegal to set up a new direct debit without your authorisation? and as for a cancelled card/old card i would have thought it would be useless, I had a similar problem when my old card expired and I forgot to tell an old creditor.. they rung to say no payment I realised then, and gave new details.. but I'd double check that with someone a bit more "with it"

I'll transfer any money i do have on the sunday so there's nothing in there for QQ to take.

They're just sending me template emails everytime i contact them asking to set an arrangement up and it's driving me mad.

There is something in the OFT guidance for debt collection about not accepting an arrangement ?

"Failing to refer onto the creditor, reasonable offers to pay by installments"

Am i reading that correctly and could i quote that to them when i ask why they've not accepted my suggested payment

    Thanks
  • sounds like something you could use, we need someone with a bit more knowledge of the rules here..

Email from QQ this morning to say my account is now in default and i need to pay up within 15 days or contact them to make an arrangement.

The 27 emails i have sent them in the last month haven't been able to sort out an arrangement so we'll see.

Email ping pong with Quickquid today - 21 emails in total !!!

They've offered me an installment plan over 4 months which i can't stretch to, especially with the charge they've added on. Asked for the charge to be refunded and then i can pay over 5 months and they've gone quiet.

Can't do anymore than that so i'll see what they come back with.

Still nothing from Clarity re PTP

Paid my first installment to PDE last week :)

Just to update, sorry it's been a while. Hubby and Son have been ill so i've been looking after the house of sick :(

I've had an email from the Financial Ombudsman Service and they are considering my complaint regarding QQ and have asked for all of the documents, emails/loan agreements etc

I need to find out if i can ask QQ to place my account on hold while the F.O.S investigate my complaint as my account will go to a DCA, most likely Mackenzie Hall  in a few weeks time

I spoke to QQ last week and they refused my payment offer again and will not stretch to 5 months. I asked for their bank details or a paypal link so i can pay what i offered but they also refused this as these, plus debit card payments are for customers on approved payment plans only.

My only option to make non-approved payments to them is by sending them a cheque or postal order to their Sheffield PO box address, this cheque will then be forward to them in the US for processing and it will take up to 4 weeks to be applied to my account. They will not hold my account but have noted that i am offering to make part payments.

Still nothing from Clarity re PTP.

Hope all's well with everyone else in the same boat
