3 and Advice re contract termination following a death

Options
My OHs sister passed on yesterday and we are trying to cancel her phone HOWEVER
It appears that her phone is actually on a dual contract (whatever its called) with her mother and her mother pays the phone bill.
So basically the Mother pays the phone bill and has two phones on this account and was then reimbursed by her daughter.
Mother called into 3 today to try and get them to terminate the daughters part of the contract (which finishes in January) but the people she spoke to will not play ball...

I understand that this may not be possible as the contract is all in the mothers name and she paid the bills, however any advice, phone numbers help etc would be greatfully accepted.

    Sorry for your loss.

I'm not a fan of 3 network, however you can have multiple phones on a contract. I've done it in the past, had 2 contracts, 2 phones, 2 numbers but 1 account with a network. This is basically what your OH's Mother has, so there probably isn't a link, or a contract for your OH's late sister, she is probably just mentioned on the account to be able to make changes.

The only advice I can give is to drop down the contract to the lowest price possible, and let it ride out til december, and then to get your OH's mother to give 30 days notice for termination.

Yes it will cost a few quid, but the contract is nearly up, which is a good thing.

It sounds like the contract is in her mothers name, so you have no chance I'm afraid.

It may come in handy for people who have her number to contact you for the future arrangements such as funerals etc. , they won't all know what has happened and you may not know them at all.

It may turn out to be helpful, my mums old phone helped me when she passed on in this way.

Condolences on your loss. Sad days.
