I have found Pipex really goodWomen and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

well, lets put it this way, they're miles better than wanadoo0

I've hardly ever had to use their customer service so I couldn't comment - except the fact I've not had to use it speaks for itself about the product they provide.
They are, however, I think now quite expensive and if they don't get competative in the next few months I'll probably look elsewhere.0 -
I signed up recently for their £14.99 1gb service plus free telephone calls. Went really smootly. Then noticed after 2 days signing up it had changed to a 2gb service. Told that couldn't upgrade yet but would in due course. Hmmm. Service has been excellent though. Very fast.t0

Quite a few friends of mine have Pipex. Customer service is beyond appaling. Connection drops quite a bit and now they're throttling downloads. So the 'unlimited' bit is a lie.
Also they don't like giving out MAC codes. Of course my friends could just be unlucky, happens sometimes. And as Ian W says, they're quite expensive. Check out the message board at https://www.adslguide.org.uk there's a Pipex board there.Sigless0 -
a few of my friends have Pipex... no complaints!... not sure about CS as they havent called up CS yet... (which i suppose is a good thing!).
bare in mind that Pipex throttles P2P... if you often use P2P, stay well away!!!
if you dont use p2p, it seems like a decent ISP0 -
They are good in terms of reliability, but their pricing has become way out of line with the market. I've been with them for years, but it might be time to move on if they don't re-price PDQ. They have concentrated on offering existing customers more speed for the same money - but not that much more speed. And I'd rather pay less than pay £23 a month for faster speed.

I felt the same and emailed for a MAC to transfer to a cheaper service. They called when I was out, then emailed reqesting I call in. This resulted in a reduction in fees to £17.99. Still a little more than the cheapest and with a 12 month tie in, but without the hassle of moving on. I`ll spend my year watching what happens to the market following the recent `free` BB offers.
Also I`m going to start using my own domain for incoming email. This is cheap to set up and as mail is forwarded to the account of your choice gives you an email address for life. it will simplify changing ISP greatly when the time comes.

I have just purchased a domain name which my entire family is going to use; it's very easy to do and very cheap.
That will get rid of one major reason for staying with PIPEX, once I've got the e-mail address changed on the 2,000 mailing lists I'm on :S
I wouldn't personally go for the £17.99 with another year's tie-in - if I'm going to change deal, it's unlikely to be with PIPEX unless they sort their pricing out. I don't think I'm prepared to wait for a whole year to switch.0 -
I'm thinking very much along the same lines as you Mark. Going to give it until the Summer to see if TT have competition from other ISPs then decide where to migrate to. At the same time start to use a domain based email address.
Last Summer, when the market wasn't as cut throat, I asked PIPEX for a MAC and got 3 months reduction but a 12 month tie-in. Won't do it again, despite their reliability PIPEX are too expensive compared to many others.0
