Hi Jonny Power, look's like we got side-tracked.

I will be looking for bands (and engraving) at Hatton Gardens after Christmas. I guess I will ask a few different ones along there about the engraving and see some samples.

I think platinum is meant to be quite difficult to do by hand so they often use machines? (I would prefer the hand done ones if they are neat!)

Either way, best ask the experts.
  • If you do get it done, can you let us know how you got on? We got our engagement ring from A&S and may end up getting the wedding bands from there.

I was supposed to get the engagement ring engraved but haven't done it yet... could get all 3 done at the same time.

I do MSE things so I can spend a bit more on the special things... and this is one such thing.

DH and I got our rings engraved at Goldsmiths. We had our names and the date engraved on each and although I can't remember the exact cost, I think it was £20-£25 each. My ring came from Goldsmiths (using Tesco deals!!), but DH's was bought elsewhere and they didn't mind.

They sent them away to get them done, but it only took a week. They look really lovely.
  • thanks guys. We're heading down on friday to try and get it sorted, so will post and let you know how we get on!
