I use a pocketmod with a shopping list bit on a page or 2 to record my spends during the week then tot it all up and do a proper update of my spreadsheets etc at the weekend. I live in jeans all the time (even at work) so I usually have one in my pocket along with a pen in my pocket or bag.

thats really clever, watched the youtube as prefer to be shown how to do it!!

:T I love them... Its that or a pocket full of post-its that I loose so it keeps me organised. :D Its also really useful to have a year calendar and week calendar handy for planning stuff in my job too along with a shopping list in progress for the week. :p

I take me muvva shopping, as much to encourage her independence as to save me a job. She gets very confused over the points vouchers & asks every time what they can be spent on saying she won't ever use them, so your method may save my sanity! Having said that if I tried to change things too much, I know we would be having a stand-up fight at the check out every time it came to paying :o

Lol i made sure that we had sorted out how the money side of things would work before we actually went to the supermarket otherwise i would have had the same battle, Dad looks forward to our weekly visits to the shops otherwise he would probably never leave the house he`s not too good on his pins and only able to walk for short distances so its a good place for him to visit. He gets to walk around in the warmth in a safe environment and he loves to shop :D

Just updated this weeks spends and i have my fingers crossed for this month :D

Well true to my word I only spent £5.36 in Aldi tonight on the weekly shop :T, however SIL bought us slab of sirloin from Makro today @ £39 so total spend is £44.36 so declaring at £160.38 for November and please put me down for £120 for December Helen as away from 23rd.

Good news is that the sirloin has been cut into 16 lovely steaks which should last a fair few weeks. Just as well I have been making space in the freezer ;)

scary moment - thought we were doing quite well this month and had £50 to keep us going till Friday but its DS1 birthday and we got family coming round and OH and I have agreed :p to cater for them in more style than we normally get  - which will be nice - but rather blowed a hole in the budget

So will probably declare a bit over - but will announce next Friday. still I am happy with how its going, and noting how much cheaper it is since I stopped going to Te$($$$)co

NSD for me yesterday and a small spend planned on fruit this morning. That should be my last spend until DH pay day on 30th. Famous last words! There is plenty of stuff in the freezer and I have meal planned so I don't NEED to by anything else.

mrssnowy - hope you find the info useful.

I have decided to knit another gilet...that will be 6 in all. Though if I have time (and wool) I will have a go at another (always liked the mumber 7)!! :D

I got some lovely Sublime mohair & merino wool to knit a lacey cardigan for myself once all this Christmas present knitting is over. I will have to concentrate more until I get the hang of the pattern, then I will speed up.

    Have a great weekend
