It all just disappeared from a seafront bench in Ostend.
    One more try:-)

    1. & is in and out of Belgium and France every day.

    2. & is in and out of sea lapping Belgium and France every day.

    3. Mamselle Meriva will tell you. & is overloading her with trouvailles. So many vide-greniers, so many fêtes du villages, so many bals dansants, so many simple happinesses, cameo moments of family lives and small sandy accidents and silly fun and summer music. The juillet 14 spectacle du soir, very homespun and hastily put together, was a case in point, but it worked too, for all ages. Wonderful to be all singing vintage chansons under the fading light, then wandering in a few imperceptible thousands down to the beach to await the 1st sky rocket, whoosh! and up and bursting Aaaah!s over the sea.......
This was all at Bray-Dunes. & was beside a family of 5 (3 young rugby sons). Maman and Papa both coach and 3 of their Lille Club women currently rep. France! - twins + 1. Papa trained them from 8years old. Très fières, tous deux and Maman aussi svelte, belle et chic, bien sûr :-)

    4. Deliberately re-reading Martin Walker's "Black Diamond", which somehow fits.

    5. The Spookymen's recording of In My Room, done in &'s frequent St C + J, has reached & in Belge:-))). Families promenading late. Might head back to read some more, I think. New arrival at far end of bench is a Lithuanian papa using mob., doing face2face duck noises with v. small daughter and much love and laughter pouring both ways in their voices.

&has another bird with broken wings sharing room... No, won't let self become over-involved. Have just listened and voiced some simple obviousnesses. Flamand français, identical but had forgotten 'septante', au lieu de 'soixante-dix'

Bop - lovely bopsie truth from you, not that we didn't know:-)

    Belgian French?

I had a chat on a ferry (in German) with a lady whose first language I never quite worked out. Something spoken in the Far East of Germany, sounded like "Norse" when she named it.

    Morning All,

Got a bit fixated on bidding on a handbag on EBay, so didn't get as much done as I hoped yesterday! Didn't win handbag either:(

    1. Lots of washing done and line dried.
    2. Took 3 bottles of wine back to Tesco, as it tasted fizzy. Got money back without an argument. That makes a pleasant change!
    3. Roast chicken dinner with rtc chicken, and wine which was not fizzy.
    4. Cleared overgrown flower bed of lemon balm and brambles. Can now reach more of the washing line!
    5. Pained nails in preparation for the Prom tonight, while watching Handmaids tale. Not cheery, but v. good. Nails have turned out well.... Getting better at using the Gel nail kit and led light. :)

Have a great day! 6th form Prom tonight. Adoption of American traditions irritates me, huge waste of money on frocks, etc. Etc. However, the students love it!

Hello, I do believe the days are stretching out by the tiniest bit. It's been very , very windy here today but has stayed dry despite forecast for rain. Washing all dried outside. I do like to see washing blowing on the line.

    Had a very quiet weekend.
Good chat with friend from home on Saturday night. She'd been on holiday / I'd been on holiday, much to catch up on.
Nice chat with niece and brief chat with great niece.
Then last night a catch up with OHs best friend , had a good blether for an hour whilst he sat in the sunshine and I was wrapped up against the cold!

Work today was fine. Busy on a Monday.

Bought 2 rather nice cardigans in not so smelly op shop ( they've removed the carpet and brightened it up!) one a dark green wool and the other a navy / grey stripy one.

Home and saw my son, he'd been away climbing snowy mountains and I was in bed when he got in last night. He has his fathers sense of adventure...certainly not mine!

Did a bit of gardening, mainly weeding. There's a spreading weed that has taken over one part of the back garden so I've been waging war against it last few weeks. It certainly looks better than it was.

Chicken pie in the oven. With lots of veggies chucked in too.

I made lots of mince pies yesterday ...may have taste tested a few. I ended up baking and freezing.

Have renewed my lease here for another 6 months. See what life holds after that.

Walked up to post office , posted a parcel to my great niece. Went to library and very optimistically borrowed 5 books. 4 non fiction and 1 fiction. I have not read a book since OH went into hospital.

Got my elf on the shelf out of his little house! DD2 hasn't seen him yet, he freaks her out!

I'd left son $20 incase he needed cash last week when we were away...he didn't! So a bonus $20 for this week.

Going to make my bed now rather than going to bed at bedtime and realising it needs made!

    Have a good Monday :)
  • If you're reading this at work, ha ha ha ha haha, these are the BoP events you are missing out on!

5 Duvet time. That time to give not a care to those at work as you fifty winks!

4 Marmite Soldeirs and dippy eggs. You just wanted that now, but are stuck at the desk instead!

3 Time to do as you pleases. Later BoP will be testing his beach gear on ...

2 Night normality strikes. The mill awaits tomorrow!

    Another day. Another dollar!

    I am indeed BOP
as for mhags my last post disappeared. Strange. And so for the weekend
    1) lots of tennis
    2) the new doctor has been announced (not surprised at some of the comments on social media, including 'should we be calling her Nurse Who'? there were similar comments about female medical doctors in years gone by, and some still continuing from my PhD student's research :-( )
    3) had a skype with a new student Saturday. internet flaky so walked dogs into office then sat with 2 wet dogs sleeping at my feet. Quite a nice way to start a wet weekend
    4) dd1 arrived home friday hooray. she had a lovely 2 weeks in Holland, and is now sorting out her stuff. she's been away 7 years!
    5) finished 'a year living danishly' very good (not least as half inched from mum, very mse)
