Hello, heading towards bedtime. Just been trying to get washing all dried over vents before the next load goes on. Washing machine and dishwasher have been going on after 10pm when electricity is off peak and half price of peak time.
Work was done , the longest shift ever on a Tuesday.
Bit of a late morning snooze, hadn't slept well last night so think I was just catching up.
Eyebrows waxed / re shaped...had to grow them out...been very werewolf-y!
Booked flights to go to Hobart in Tasmania next month for girls and I. Going early and coming back late means cheapest flights. Joined the airlines loyalty program meaning that I saved money also.
Made lentil soup for tea, very yummy.
Have a good day0 -
5 Well I managed 5 minutes of BBC last night and it was awful. The commentator was on about some 90 mile hike as if she was talking about a walk in Edale. Where do these idiots come from? Please do not pay the TV Tax. How down this media outlet has gone since we watched in the Pigs bar in 1982, Simon’s War. Just that he was close to my comrade in arms brother, GDSMN Marks who was slain on Sir Galahad in 1982. No we were not some innocent unemployed people like some ideologist has just remarked, but boys became men those months. It was 8th June 1982, thirty five years ago. Thank goodness I have not watched their carp news since 21:33Z 1982-05-03. It was a Monday evening for those who are interested. Avoid.
4 Proper food was eaten for tea last evening. Second pie of fish and king prawns. In homemade parsley sauce and topped with well out of date tatties. Juice of concentrated lemon and eau de faucet was drunk.
3 Tad disappointed about the cricket, but the bookie pot has increased to nearly £14, May put some on Engerland today. Please be aware that BoP does not condone gambling, but then again that mortgage of endowment did not do too well. Avoid! At least I can cheer on the donkey in the 3:15 at Donny and be happy see my money go down the plug hole, rather than some city spotty Muldoon waste it on champagne!
2 Mind you that we have money, bank has kindly texted me this very morning. Dear Mr BoP. We noticed that your card of debit was used abroad for some transactions! It wants to know if I am concerned!!! Yeah, I has been back well over a fortnight and I did say so on your website where I was and how did you think I was going to pay for the wobbleade! Please avoid any bank and just take cash. Too easy!
If I was a gentleman, I would lay down my coat in the puddle, but you can get your own mac instead!0 -
Its raining and so windy today, and I don't have to leave the house!! Bliss!
House is cleaned/tidied. Candle lit and it feels cosy.
I have fresh cut roses in the lounge. Pale pink ones. This is the first cuttings from my roses this year.
Having a lazy day. Cat is beside me. She is my shadow.
Did a batch of spag bol for throughout the month.0 -
1) I didn't get rained on today!
2) 2 x lovely walks with my doggie friends lunchtime with Cookie, Sue and Charlie and teatime with Maisie and her mum when we walked along the river, very breezy but not at all cold.
3) Picked the strawberries from the garden, they looked a bit battered from the heavy rain we had overnight so I made jam and added in some of last years redcurrants from the freezer to help it set. 10 jars woohoo!!!
4) Wonderful flower scents in sheltered spots out of the wind, roses at the dip in one of the footpaths, philadelphus (Syringa) in sunny front gardens and an exquisite honeysuckle growing wild on the coastal path and giving its all in terms of perfume.
5) Watching Maisie run in the big open space with a whole motley collection of dogs being exercised there, it's such a beautiful sight to see them all run together.0 -
Your garden sounds wonderful Mrs LW, love scented flowers so much
1. Found out from new head who starts in September which year groups I'll be teaching next year and subject leader responsibility and am very happy with the former, and excited about the challenge of the latter! I'm going to be busy, that's for sure
2. Booked tickets for DD and I to go to her netball awards ceremony.
3. DD continues to feel very chuffed (as do I) with her exam results, she appears to be a bit of an all-rounder, and I'm overjoyed with her 91% German result. Sehr gut!!
4. Fab morning with the cherubs in class, then managed to get my head down and do some planning this afternoon. The reports still haven't quite written themselves though!!
5. Loved listening to the rain beating down on the roof this morning, Chap sent me a photo of himself taken at the end of his walk to work.....slightly damp shall we say!?!
6. DD is convinced I've lost a few lb this week, as she likes to measure me by cuddling me, bless herFingers crossed the scales will agree at WW tomorrow night!!
7. Just cashed in £8 of survey earnings into my PPal account. More money for my savings pot0 -
My pleasures for today
1. Fresh coffee
2. Meeting friend for coffee and cake.
3. Cleaned house - looks so much better.
4. Helped dsd with her wedding invites
5. More crochet done on never ending blanket.0 -
Lots of rain today! Here are my pleasures:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) English Lang 1 went OK for bigger son.
3) I had a muddy morning (in continuous rain), moving the magpie trap from the allotment into my car. Let crows go 2 miles from the allotment. Took trap back to my brother.
4) Did some biology revision with bigger son.
5) Went into town to meet my school friend.
6) Some YS bits from Sainsburys (seems Tuesday evening is the best time, at that particular branch).
7) Watched Holby City and One Born.0 -
In bed early.
Work ...worked with a wooly hat & fingerless gloves! So cold and no heating and a constantly open door. Wrote a letter whilst I waited for customers!
Haircut...found my hairdresser after she had left salon at Christmas time. She's now working from home. $15 cheaper than normal & cut how I like it.
Had to go to solicitors to get more copies of death certificate certified. Still seems wrong.
Snooze. I keep crashing out at midday. Then bright & breezy afterwards.
Walked back up to solicitors, then post office ( having walked past & forgot to post letters) then home.
Candles on, washing almost dried outside , heating on for an hour or so . A bright sunny but chilly day.
Made steak pie for tea with RTC meat done in slow cooker. Boiled potatoes ...from a seemingly never ending bag bought rtc for $1 weeks ago, cauliflower, sprouts, peas & carrots.
Then decided I couldn't be bothered sitting snoozing in front of telly so have came to bed to keep warm.0 -
1. Yet another easy commute to work thanks to the Scottish roadworks being almost completed.
2. Checked out pension stuff. Have more than I thought although anything can happen in 10 years.
3. Very nice cheese scone at coffee time.
4. Lettuce growing nicely thanks to all that rain.
5. Watching two happy cats this morning sunbathing.0 -
Yous cannot beat the DfV summary! Dates and contenders. Cor blimey guv’nor! Contenders. Must be some market there! Minds me of the blonde of six foot inn the bridge. All well till she stands up and goes to the next table! Not that BoP is interested, he was never on the shelf! BoP rules. One is enuff!
On lovers, some time ago when BoP played with the rocks up near Catterick, there was a duck pond that some mistresses would head up to with their sparring partners! Well onetime on playing games, one of the fold had a few nice firecrackers. We lit up four of the cars in brilliance at 10 in the evening. You should have seen them scurry quickly! It was our playground, not theirs!
Frith must sleep like an old dog! Every nite she has a good one! Job shortlisted! We has vacancy at mill for bean counter! VL No such thing as a free lunch. Watch out for what they want! Mhags. Yous DD needs minding of BoP sayings. Onions are shaped like Toenails and should not …
It will soon be over
5 Well after going inn all on Engerland yesterday, I then got home from the mill to watch the Americas Cup. We are not doing too well and being three down in best of five, a stroke of fortune came our way. Ben Ainslee boat managed to upsurge the kiwi boat and get over the start line in a furious pace, and the wake up ended the kiwi boat. If I was there, I would have then rammed them to make sure damage was more severe! Rules are rules. Anyhow, the race was awarded and justice down for Monday’s foil failure that cost us two races! Hopefully the damage is too much and we can draw level. Of course, all the sailors were ok. Oh, the fund at the bookmaker is now up £15 on £20! A better return this week than any investment banker of spotty Muldoon’s place drinking champagne. Just weighting for a decent price on Africans of the South.
Please do not treat this musing as financial advise!
4 Was in my beach ready kit last eve at the gym. Hard work being BoP keeping trim and firm. But would you want to see BoP on a beach! As we have so much riding on this week, this very morning BoPsie, who likes it hot, murmered that the heating was on! There I don’t have to run it this month to ensure the pump and the system is good for the winter! And please remember to check the rates for the gas and electric. If baffoons get in, it will be too late tomorrow!
3 Found a blue BoE Form 5 in my wallet this morning. It was converted into a dog burger. Tum was rubbed. Dog burgers are nice once in a while and should not be used in conjunction with fads and diets. Mind you, cakes of Jaffa have been half price in emporium w8rs recently and thy are also fully nourishing as well! Last eve I watched another tv channel, don’t watch bbc and please do not pay their tax, on some hotel. Poor girl had a serious restriction on her lifestyle and hated sunshine. Oh my, how does her body make vitamin D. You’re here once, get out an enjoy it.
2 Oh good it is Wednesday at time of writing this, the week is downhill from here! Have to do a full week this week as the Tax man is clutching at straws for his dough I have collected and saved for him. We are living on bean and crumb this week so please send us your wobbleade chits by me. My pal of pay account is open so you only have to cough up your hard earned pennies and think of others! Other less worthy causes are available as well. Oh on that, good job the greasy politicos give up tomorrow. Just heard the good Digby of Lord Jones on the wireless thing, not bbc. He got it right in his new book. Shame we just could not do an immediate cull of the space wasters and let him do the job!
