Lost the post of previous pleasures so today..
Frith I just potted up the wallflowers today also, they had made a break for it.

1 A healthy brekkie, but treated DH to a made pizza for lunch.
2 Renewed my Meerkat membership as there a few films coming up.
3 Took dh out for a birthday dinner and feeling way to full from the oriental buffet place, somehow didn’t have any cocktails but I am sure I will make up for this another time.
4 The job market has really started to perk up, hoorrrah.
    5 Feeling generally content.

    For the last few days.

    1. Seeing a hedgehog in the garden - two evenings in a row.

    2. Planting some seeds in the garden and weeding done.

    3. DS1 called round and is well. Returned some things and had a catch up.

    4. Free lunch at work. It was ok.

5.. Picked flowers and put in a vase which are looking good. An informal display.

Morning all - once again using this thread as a reason for me to sit here and type....

    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1. Managed some writing
    2. my shower isn't leaking as badly as i thought and we think it is just that the mastic needs redoing
    3. lunch out with friends
    4. OH has attacked some very straying bushes with the hedge trimmer. Look a bit decimated now but will be better in the long run
    5. Sausages and cauli-broccoli cheese for tea. thank goodness it was soft as i have been badly bruised by the dentist refilling a chipped filling and can barely open my mouth...

Have a good day all - more work for me plus the joys of my last ever parent's evening later

Evening all...sitting wrapped up in a blanket...avoiding putting the heating on...got the electricity bill yesterday ,yikes!

Work....dragged on and on and on. Tuesday is a loong one!

Met a friend for a peppermint tea. She gave me some good advice. Also had a good chat about lots of things.

The dresser is painted! Hurrah! Is there such a thing as too many jugs?

Made the most delicous steak pie with RTC meat in the slow cooker and made the most delicous roast potatoes to go with them and sprouts and carrots and green cabbage and red cabbage, yum, yum , yum!

An odd moment, whilst I was out enjoying my peppermint tea and good company, the couple who I had chosen to 'unfriend' , had turned up and left a 'memory blanket' that is made of nasty nylon fleece and had a photo and my husband's name on it. It's not really, me, my children or even my husband. They wrote a message on the bag saying that the had obviously upset me and were not sure how. This was left at my front door. I don't want to have negative , bigoted people in my life . I do not agree with their views, I find them offensive. She had also messaged me to tell me my husband's funeral was awful. I have enough nice people in my life at the moment. Onwards!

    Have a good day
  • 5 Well it is now seventy six years since Mrs Raven and six of her staff were killed in an air raid at Waddington in Lincolnshire. The all ranks club at RAF Waddington is named after her. Three other airman were killed and the local church destroyed.

That’s your history today about events in the European Civil war. Now who wrote that.!

4 Oh well, same as last nights tea. Proper food again with fresh chicken curry. BoPsie, who licks it hot, said she was impressed that BoP had got the curry just like JalFrezzi. No, normal rules apply. Chicken stripped, knowing it only served two to three, added to pan of onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Added garem masala, termites, chili, and garlic. Sauce of masala added, you can get these from the emporium. Buy them when they are on offer. Served with long grain rice, drained and washed. Egg fry was miced in. Tum was rubbed! Proper Food. Oh, the chicken is on the table for the birds, and the breast is readied for tonight. Them roast tatties, they’ll be making an appearance as well!

On proper food this morning, BoPsie who delicately packs my lunch box, was making up for her errant ways and not putting the chocolate, bought last week see note passim, into the box. BoP tried to get both bars in and she went all off on a huff. I ask you. She has had chocolate on the side for days and not touched it. I was quite prepared to taste it for her! Oh well!

3 More edging done in the bedroom! This time raffles was not adding his own patterns!

2 Night BoP is in the gym with his beach ready body!

There is only one option, get on and enjoy it!

On our Buck of Face we have allowed two divorcees to connect. Ill get the bucket of iced water and be prepared! You can never know!

Dh and I couldn’t sleep with worry over todays doctors so at 3am found ourselves hunting around upstairs for a pre-proof book of wicked we stumbled across many years ago now being given away, and decided to start re reading it.

1 A couple of sleepless nights later and there’s no bad news from the doctor, just wow so so thankful but wow what worry.:j
2 I had a daft thing, it took us about an hour at the docs this morning, travel and picking up meds, in that time a job emailed me a link that I “had” to respond to in an hour but I missed the deadline at the job, I’ve never experienced such a stupid way to recruit so far, to quote DH if they are that unreasonable who would want to work for them. Pleasure being another role has already been applied for.:p
3 Cleaned out the caravan, the fridge is all done, bedding all washed dried on the line.
4 Moved the bagged-up tonne of soil from the back garden to by the car in prep for a tip run tomorrow and loaded up 2 more bags with soil.
5 HM lasagne and a lot of greens cooking away now.

Oh amen to that VJsmum, and phew, PK, we've had enough of that carp on this thread, to vocalise what we were all thinking.

    Small collection.

    1. HM oat and linseed bread. This was a bag mix and made a really lovely loaf. Will use the remaining bit as breadcrumbs, chiefly to discipline myself in to not eating the lot. Ate quite a bit of the loaf with a Jocasta Innes recipe I hadn't tried before of Lentils and Anchovies. This wasn't "ooh, wow", but was tasty enough to make me want to do it again.

    2. Trimming my outgoings. I stopped a couple of payments for things that weren't really necessary and feel more relieved as a result.

    3. I bought a very good cookery book s-h, The Glasgow Cookery Book.
When it arrived it was in absolutely pristine condition - and it only cost 1p, plus postage, on Am@zon.

It's a super basics book. It would be a wonderful purchase for anyone who wants to go cookery OS but needs to know things like how to make pastries and bread from scratch.

Most of the cookbooks I've bought s/h have been in very good or better condition, which is sad in its way, that they were bought but never used. I have a couple in very good condition myself, but most of mine are as dog eared as you can imagine.

    4. Just washed and styled my hair and said a quiet prayer that I could get it looking as decent as I did after its cut and colour by Salon Me on the weekend. I could, yay.
Who needs hairdressers? (Well, ok, I know from FB that some of us are grateful for their expertise!)

    5. Your pleasures, thank you.

  • Ooooooooh so tide up sore tin big Warster avoiding train for going up norff tomorrow completely swept me mind about PK DH. :heartpuls get inn!
