  • Virtual bunting hung out for PK! now I know why the sunshine came so good today!!! so pleased for you both love, well done!

    1) Lovely walk on the common with Maisie who played with multitudinous other dogs and had so much fun.

    2) She's here with me now, dropping her treat ball forlornly on the ground trying to get me to get the last one out, she's so cute!

    3) She and a younger 20 week old pup discovered the pond on the common today and went straight in with an enormous splash then spent 20 minutes careering around like mad things running and chasing was a joy to be there.

    4) We netted the strawberries this afternoon, so many set it's a good year.

    5) Lovely walk earlier with Cookie and Sue and Charlie retriever, such a nice day and I've been lucky enough to be outside in it for most of the time since lunch, it's warm and gorgeous!

    Today and yesterday ....

    1. I have made buns today as well. Mr Rage said they were lovely. I pointed out they were made with the two brown bananas he put into the caddy for composting this morning..... half a packet of out of date fudge pieces and turned into butterflies with some out of date chocolate buttercream....
    2. I did the baking to calm down from one of my neighbours coming and complaining about my "out of control" apple tree and how it should be cut down. I have this every year as did my mother. Man's a bully. He offered to help me cut it down..... pffft. He has nothing in his garden but concrete and God forbid a leaf should fall from one of the two branches that go slightly over the fence.... my OS moment was shutting the door when he went and just thinking "idiot" rather then letting it upset me like it would have....
    3. My books from Amazon arrived today - a day early. Very pleased with them and more bedtime reading
    4. Watched Dr Who last night - crikey that was good
    5. Meal from the freezer and it seems the meal plan is being stuck to.

Also ordered the arbour for the back garden from George at £30 less than anywhere else. So that's £30 to spend on plants then..... Loads of work in my intray - started work at 7.30 today and finished at 5.00 with loads still in there for tomorrow. This is good as my last typing agency was rubbish and we need the money..... so all I all a relatively fulfilling day.....
    The game's afoot....

    1. Already au lit after day of mowing, digging, dejungling. Tumtitumtitumtitum just closing, with continuity announcer amusingly mockshocked, referring to ongoing sorrow re:Captain, let alone Billy.... Well yes, you did have to be there. Company of robin through much of afternoon. " Keep digging and turning, &" was his clear song.

    2. Omitted from last long osps were the joy hours from midnight 30 Sunday a.m. of International Dawn Chorus day. This was a wonderful stretch of hours and sounds.

    3. Nsd.

    4. Nearly an npd, 'cept for running 4 metre-ish sleeper offcuts to Vicarage. & and Vic got talking re: garden bits and edgings when we went for &'s eggs after Service.

    5. Small oil leak fix@Fenboys demain, which in turn means no Spits :-(, nor Marks Tey, which was plan with M, who also does Spits. Ah well...Pleasure has to be & noticing in time. Hoping new towbar (MUCH needed) can be simultaneous.

PK, we all share your relief :-))). Hugs all round. Your 4foots will sense it too. You have quite enough with your df caring. Your excess soil could very handily fill &'s 2 half barrels right now.

Mhags - right thing well done. I am shocked by that msg sent.

Mrs lw, spotted my one (extra-large) strawb. flower while digging today & thought of your advanced berrying:-). It's been like pitchforking concrete in some spots here. Steady sprinkler on this arvo. Neighbour same, post-mow.

    Happy evenings to all.

I've missed this thread when I've not been able to get online between one thing and another. You are all very inspirational and I thank you for your pleasures x

    1. Colleague said let's get take a break. We ended up sitting bare footed on the beach, chatting about work, soaking up the sun, enjoying ozone smells! The sand was lovely and warm between our toes.

    2. Cherry blossom, so many trees in bloom all around. It's an amazing display of pinks and white - magical.

    3. Family. So grateful to be part of of my sons' lives. Oldest has gone off to Germany to work but regardless I feel closer to him and his wee brother than ever.

    4. Enjoying the new seasons produce, fresh veg and fruit, my palette has changed over the last week or so to crave new fresh produce. I'm blessed to be able to access and enjoy that.

    5. Finding a range of bras that fit! I was suffering from wandering cup wire there. No one wants to be stabbed in the throats by a bra wire whilst chairing a meeting. embarrassing never mind painful! Finally found a range that fits....yeh ordered 4, one in every shade! Bless be the technology :rotfl:

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Scotch pancakes and strawberries for breakfast.

    3) Revision with bigger son - 1 maths paper, annotated one poem, tiny bit of Chemistry.

    4) Had a break to feed the hens and do an hour of digging on the allotment.

    5) Scrambled eggs for lunch.

    6) Popped to town and escaped injury :-O Going towards the cathedral, there are 3 lanes - 2 going towards the bridge and 1 going into town. I was on the into town single lane. Traffic moving slowly in the 2 other lanes coming the other way. Small silver car decided it would overtake both lanes of traffic at a good 50+MPH - in MY LANE!!

I did a little sidestep to the left but had to look in the mirror as there was the inevitable screeching noise, a huge amount of dust thrown up, then a crunch. I couldn't stop (on the junction).

    7) 3rd appointment with building society and it looks like smaller son's Child Trust Fund will FINALLY be transferred to a child ISA. The usual argument about he couldn't really be born where I said as that is my address. Yes, they are the same place.

    8) Charity shop spree got me 2 tops and a T shirt for smaller son with Swiss Army knife motif (brand new).

    9) Cup of tea with my school friend.

    10) Went to local football club (well, the pub attached to it) to retrieve smaller son's football, left there after the match on Sunday.

    11) Tasty pancakes and slightly fried peaches for supper.

V pleased to read all is well PK, hopefully weight off shoulders.

    Some recent pleasures,

A new supplement that seems to have made a real difference to my old dogs mobility, fingers crossed for further improvement once warmer weather comes.

Tidying out the shed, something very gratifying about getting everything out on the grass and sorting through, also the smashing of old terracotta pots to line others.

My yellow patio rose has so many buds on it and the new climbing one is looking healthy.

Candles on the horse chestnut trees, white and red, beautiful.

Trip into Ely, tea and cake then a glass of Baileys raised in honour of what would have been my DM's 75th.

Morning all - another day, another train to London.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. An 'at home' day. Working is a bit of a struggle but nevertheless we persist. it's all i can do - in the hope that small breakthroughs happen along the way
    2. Last parents' evening. Teacher is good but waffly. DS 'should' achieve what he needs. he leaves school in two weeks
    3. DId a 5:2 diet day for the frist time in a long time and it was.... ok. the scales tell me I need to lose half a stone. Thick carrot, squash and coriander soup for lunch and veg curry for tea. Whilst it wasn't 500 calories, it was under 1,000 and i am also low carbing
    4. Friend i haven't spoken to for a long time rang out of the blue so had a long chat and catch up with her.
    5. Enjoying watching the birds on my feeder, now that they have finally found it. Laughing at the daft pigeon trying to reach the fat balls by edging along a branch sideways and then the branch dipped with it's weight... :rotfl:

Have a great day - I am off to the British Library for a few hours before meeting a schoolfriend for lunch,
I wanna be in the room where it happens

V when I read about your VERY LAST  parents meeting my eyes crossed. After raising six kids, I could have given the teacher spiel any time anywhere. My favorite was a very frustrated Mrs. Garcia when my youngest was in third grade. "I had to move Andrew to a desk over by himself because he was talking so much and not letting the other kids do their work, BUT that hasn't worked either because now he just talks to himself!"

    PK, I'm glad that's over!

mcc, I had a bit of a problem  with an addiction for buying cookbooks. I had to completely stop. Your Glasgow find would still be ok since it was such an incredible bargain!

Rage, very :money: !!!!! with your baking.
One of my little darlins came home crying one day b/c the adjoining neighbor had yelled at him to get off HIS fence. I pulled out the surveyor's map and marched over to say "that's my fence so don't yell at my kid anymore!!" This guy was such a jerk! (I hope that's not a bad word in the U.K....& I depend on you)

Note to BoP: 1) You and Mrs. BoPsie are cordially invited to the US of A. You may partake of any and all delights that you can afford, both financially and emotionally. Watch out for NYC overload. It can happen to those not accustomed!! 2) I will not be eating curry at your house, when I come to visit, due to your current termite infestation.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.
