5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Wednesday evening here, just had a very nice lasagne , mashed potatoes and peas and carrots for dinner. Slightly stuffed !
Day 2 off. A bit of a mixed bag of a day.
Started off with some pottering around, cleaned the food cupboards , tidied my baking cupboard, a pile of biscuit tins ( I had many and there's still plenty left) donated to salvos.
Then I was catching up on a blog I read and I got so upset reading it as it resonated with all I'm feeling about re diagnosis . The ability to look forward has been taken away from me. I am by nature an optimist and look forward person, I always have been. I am scared to look any further ahead than next week! Hopefully as the days and weeks add up it may become better but for now it's very difficult. I can see how far we /OH have come in the past 85 days.
Then , just after having a bit of a sobfest I got a call from school to say DD2 had hurt her hip! Nooooo! Not again, other one this time just walking up straits at school. So , tears wiped and car keys picked up and off I went, lifting the cheque for school fees at the same time!
Then with my new to me, furry hooded gilet on, OH and I went out and about for a while. hot chocolates, roaring fires, kangaroos basking in some very weak sunshine, many parrots and cockatoos.
A snooze on sofa once home.
Took stuff over to salvos , so some more clutter out.
Made lasagne with a dog constantly under my feet!
Hoping to head to some real snow tomorrow !
Have a good day0 -
>peeks round the door, relieved to see the same friendly natives. And some new faces, welcome
. Been awol for several days, time is just running through my fingers like water atm. Will catch up with your posts later but for now
1. A fun day at Church on Friday, bring a dish lunch followed by an hours art (my cat looked more like a hare), then board games and a mini sports day to round off the day. It's years since I did a sack race or egg and spoon - I'm not fit!
2. Tickets to see one of the next series of The Chase arrived yesterday.
3. Neil Diamond at the 02. He's amazing as ever, if not more so. Supper afterwards at Yo! Sushi before snoozing on the train home
4. DGD2's ball photo's arrived, went to DD's house to see them. Just lovely, the girls had organised a Charleston theme which won first prize. DNeighbour's DD came to show me her prom outfit which was traditional and very pretty. Lots of photo's taken.
5. Today has been spent preparing for a friends dinner tomorrow evening, place cards done (I'm fine with calligraphy, why can't I draw?!), balloons on order, cake just needs to be decorated and presents wrapped. Just have to phone around to see who needs transport and that part of my day is done.
6. It's stopped raining so I can go and dead-head the flowers and see how much damage the last two days deluge has done.
Take care, will try not to leave it so long before I post again0 -
1. Even though just been home today and not done much I have had a good day.
2. going out for a meal with friends later
3. Going to bottle some of my homemade wine later for Dads birthday gift
4. Got cuddles from my kitties earlier
5. Looking forward to becoming a student nurse in a few weeks time0 -
And relax.
Is Wednesday evening. Tomorrow is yet to come. But again. It will be an early POETS Day. That's 5, 4, 3, 2 in one.
And breathe.
I hear internet is a Twitter of young lassie. Hmmm. No one told her the Norman Lord probably came from modern day Lancashire?
5 Had another reversion lunch. Poodles, with ginger and carrots. Sits rubs tum.
4 Got test plan out at mill. That will ground the corn. Kerching.
3 BoPsie reported that decorator has nearly finished hallway. And it looks fantastic. Cannot wait to see, see above re POETS Day!
2 Day that ignorant neighbore tried to engage minutes with decorator. Guy has no sense. BoPsie blocked him at door, he hid upstairs ignorant. He is in my place, doing a job for me.
Nationalists divide, Statesman bring people together.
I see no statesman today?0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) 2 days to go!!!
2) Not a bad sleep.
3) Work trip today just a few miles down the road, in bigger son school town. So I was able to drop him off at school then wait for the buses - an hour early :-/
4) Survived the trip unscathed.
5) Took smaller son to pre-op this afternoon. Was a bit weird at first - they decided to speak to all pre-op children at once. All the children were weighed in front of each other and I did wonder how far this was going to go - with very embarrassed teenagers present. By the end we even sang happy birthday to one soon to be patient!
Then another nurse appeared and the form filling was done sensibly in an office. She denied all knowledge of the things put in place for smaller son (somewhere to sit by himself - even if its a corridor etc) but then as she watched him pace the office it dawned on her that I was saying these things for a reason so he will be first on the list, able to wander the hospital until the last second before anaesthetic etc.
6) Nearly melted in hospital so had a quick drink in a caf!.
7) PCWorld man mended laptop 1's mouse pad by doing something that we should have known how to do (with the function key).
Bedtime now!0 -
My recent pleasures
1. Sunshine this afternoon.
2. Home made chicken & chickpea curry for tea.
3. Lovely morning at craft group.
4. Knitted chimney sweep made by a lovely lady for my dgs, my dad was a chimney sweep before he died.
5. Crocheting my never ending blanket - 6 rows to go.0 -
Good evening from blooming freezing Melbourne....( I need to remember how cold it is when I'm moaning about the heat come summer! )
It stayed dry all day but such an icy blasty wind.
Friend from home back from her hols, lots to catch up on!
Dropped DD2 and her crutches and her very heavy school bag off at school ....repeated at home time!
Road trip with OH, to Mount Macedon , where at the top was around 1.5o c and very chilly. Stunning views from the memorial cross. Dreadful cup of hot chocolate but passable scones! Had a bit of a wander but was far too cold for OH. Found the remnants of what looked like a snowman...well there was a carrot! So threw a snowball.
Down the mountain to Gisborne and had some lunch there.....I need OH to go back to work so I stop eating cakes! It looked a nice little town.
Many kangaroos, hundreds of parrots, ibis, llamas , sheep and cows.
Picked up DD2's school report which was good and we have parents night tonight. She has thrived in a much better leading environment and whilst I baulk at the fees , again it's worth the financial sacrifice to send her there.....I should get a mummy of the year award x3!
So days off done and almost dusted! Got a text from boss to say I've not to go in until 10am tomorrow , so whilst less money....less hours to work!
Im on for the next 7 days.....( sobs quietly!) as boss on hols for a week.
Have a fabulous Thursday0 -
POETS Day and early. Just had my Dog Roll. Rubs tum. Then maybe a curry for lunch. Then back to the nest. Happy days0

1) Housework, ironing, washing, bed change all done and nothing else for this afternoon planned, heavenly!
2) The sun is beginning to break through the grey and humid mirk that has been weather for the last few days.
3) I have an evening on my own today and will NOT turn on the TV but will listen to some music and light a few candles and read my book in peace instead.
4) Finding a new courgette recipe to try which I hope will be nice enough to use up some of the courgette mountain I seem to have accumulated.
5) Sitting out for my cuppa this afternoon, the garden is looking nice and tidy, the window boxes and pots are in glorious full bloom and the air is alive with bees, butterflies and hover flies all harvesting pollen and nectar from them too, absolutely grand'0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) One day left at work!
3) Had sports day during the afternoon.
4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
5) Phoned the builder as the bathroom leaking through into the living room reminded me he should be starting next week. Had a chat and he is coming at 8am tomorrow!!
6) Enjoyed DIY SOS.
7) Tidied up in readiness for bathroom man.0
