Evening all :hello:
My pleasures for the day:
1) Trip to Homebase for some plants. Double Nectar points received. I have about £50 worth but can't quite decide what to buy with them. I'm thinking about putting them towards a new gadget for the kitchen - just don't tell DH. :rotfl:
2) Met up with my mum and her friend for lunch. Free lunch! Went to a lovely, local cafe which I love.
3) Loads of shredding and recycling of old catalogues.
4) Found out that the horse which I have a minute share in is racing tomorrow at Towcester. Sadly, I think I'll have to go by myself as DH is working and I've tried every other friend possible. So, if anyone lives near Towcester - would you like to go to the races tomorrow? Otherwise I'll be there as a Norma-no mates.I've joked that I'll have to walk around with a Racing Post under my arm just to fit in.
5) I've stared at the ironing pile for too long and it doesn't seem to be taking the hint. I think I might have to do something about it... Oh well.

Fingers crossed your horse has a good race. Have a lovely day in my home town :j. Sadly I'll be at work tomorrow down the A5 in MK, but Towcester races is always good fun, and the locals are friendly. Let us know how you get on0

My pleasures for today:
1) Wore my new (charity shop) Coast skirt. First time I'd worn one since graduation day!
2) Went into town to have a cup of tea with my college friend.
3) Found the little jacket I needed (finally) for my sister's wedding.
4) Also bought a necklace to go with outfit.
5) My travel bug and geocache stuff came in the post. :-)
6) Tasty pasta bake for tea.
7) Went swimming with sons and brother.
8) Very nostalgic evening after that. The village school I went to has been boarded up since 2000. It is just 2 classrooms and there were 19 pupils when I went there. It has been sold to local farmers (mum and dad's neighbours) and I was pointing out to sons that the boarding has been taken down from the windows. Then we saw the farmer so cheekily asked if we could have a guided tour! Sons had never been inside and it was 27 years since I had. The ceilings had come down and the wooden floor had to be removed but it was still the same. Same layout, peach paint on the bare brick walls, same red mat that was in the cloakroom chucked out on the grass.
Here's a pre-boarding up photo (before thieves got in and stole all the pipework/electrics/lead off the roof). http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/244602
9) Sons tried their wedding suits on again and smaller son checked in the top pocket of his jacket (from Ebay) and there was a £5 note in there!!
10) Just making bread and fairy cakes now for tomorrow as we have run out of the usual breaktime cereal bars.0 -
Hello, not been here for a few days though have been reading your pleasures...just too tired to post mine!
Day 6 of busy work completed , sore feet more sore than usual! However, another day another dollar as they say!
Rain , rain and more rain, 3 days worth of non stop rain!
Chats with friends and mum on phone.
Been too busy working to spend much! Tea provided by work past 2 nights
Mouse- scepades: 3 down and not sure how many more there may be! One was hopping ( literally across the floor with the trap still attached ) , we've found a little mouse hole , so that's been filled!
Day off tomorrow...loads to do and so much to catch up on!0 -
Let’s get ready to Crumble
Frogs, BoP prefers, guess what? Five pound notes, Danish pastry, hopping (well it is a spring hare) newspaper hats, piles of ironing, I know a horse! I know a horse. Good runner or old nag?
Have you had you 5 a day? Well, it is Thursday and curry day, guess at the salt mine, south face. 4 it shall be chicken in spiced tomato sauce again. 3 choices, but does BoP go for the curly fries?
2 nite BoPsei is going to get it. Scrabble nite style. I think she is still two wins away from a chance of three on the bounce
1 To liven up the thread, everyone has one shot at another and gives them a Disney cartoon Character.
Today, Sparra is Snow White!
Oh, and BoP. He prefers Toads!0 -
Afternoon
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Early start for work but still managed to still sort out packed lunch for OH and get washing machine on.
2. Lift to site off a friend at work so didn't have to get on a packed train and I didn't have to leave as early as I would have if got the train.
3. Free lunch at work, well no such thing as a free lunch as was mugged into helping with another departments training that I have some knowledge on. People being trained are really not happy about the system they are getting and letting it be knownand while I don't blame them please don't shoot the messenger.
4. Picked a couple of bits up from tesco click and collect that had ordered for friends and niece that are expecting babies, Nice little presents for very little money :money:
5. Did not give into thoughts of takeaway and made baked wraps filled with a bolognaise sauce and topped with cheese. Wraps needed using up so was very good
Hugs to all who need them0
