Hello, pleasures from past 2 days:
1. Not the pleasure but I was chased by daddy duck yesterday....he went horizontal and hissy....the pleasure ? His adorable babies he was protecting.
2. A baby magpie with its mummy near my car this afternoon.
3. DD2 and I planted our first seeds yesterday. As it has rained since...we'll considered them well watered in.
4. Getting marvelous discounts from 2 different companies near my work as a favour.....suits me fine!
5. DD1 made a very delicious quiche at school. Had that when I came in from work.....and an extra slice, it was yummy.
6.making the decision not to keep sending email updates on husbands progress to people who don't bother their backside to acknowledge or even reply.....quite a liberating decision. And receiving lovely emails from people who I did send it to.
7. Watched another episode of Downton so I'm all up to date.
8. Nice phone call to one of my best friends this morning before I went to work, a nice way to start the day.
9. A call to my sister later to look forward to.
Hoping to go up to the library and watch Casualty and possibly GBBO if it's been uploaded on to YouTube yet.
have a lovely day, PK I hope your dad gets better soon. Take care x0 -

Morning all
Hope all is well PK, sending positive vibes your dad's way
Good luck with the scan TILAMS
mhags love the daddy duck tale, and the magpies. Who needs expensive amusements when there's real life out there?!
Frith you're sounding so much brighter, good to hear. Enjoy being single for now, it will give you time to catch your breath and just be a little family for a while. The nice thing about family is it doesn't let you down
Hope everyone has a blessed day0 -
Good luck TILAMS
Happy anniversary DD - how things have moved on in the "same sex marriage" world in those 25 years! :T I still have hopes for DD's godfather and his partner - partly cos I would love them to make that commitment but also cos I want an excuse to buy an L K Bennett dress! A gay wedding? I couldn't have anything less, darling!! :rotfl: I also have a vague hope of being "best woman" and DD wants to be bridesmaid - hmm if they read this I think i'd scare them off. I have been best woman once - gave a wicked speech if I say so myself.
CCP - I too am on the "great freezer defrost" attempt. Tonight OH and I will have a combination of "Chicken slop with peppers" and "Chicken slop that ended up too vinegary". Mmm sounds lovely :rotfl:
Hugs to PK and KB - KB have you tried daylight bulbs and Vit B supplements? THey help my mood at this time of year.
Sparrer - you could get rid of a pair rather than buy a pair
Mhags - this is the start of 6 months of me being jealous of your weather! I have decided out of all 4 seasons I only really like summer, which is not great.
For yesterday
1. Painters have finished :T
2. Last week when we were tidying the office (or starting to) OH found an old Post office savings book. It had £1.87 in it and the last transaction was 1978! I threatened him to either send it off or throw it away. To my amazement he sent it off and today received a cheque for £8.72!! :rotfl:
3. [STRIKE]Marked a dissertation[/STRIKE]. Actually scrap that - it wasn't a pleasure. Had a nice walk whilst carrying out a chore.
4. Sausages on a bed of "lentilles vertes" and runner beans for tea. Just like being in Le Puy en Velay - well, kinda
5. Did the ironing whilst watching a couple of old "Who do you think you are"'s. Still got the end of William ROache's to watch.
Have a good day - I am marking another dissertation.:(I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning all.
1. A good nights sleep much helped by an intense physio session.
2. Made hot milk and added hazelnut syrup.
3. The cat now prefers her bed downstairs! Getting hold of a homemade crochet blanket has given her the comfort she needs
Sparrer do you have a recipe for moussaka I've never made it.

PK - Hugs
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Another one who picked up the free almond chocolate milk in Waitrose.
2. Another day of everyone having packed lunches, getting much better at this.
3. Handing over a completed baby blanket to a friend for his grandaughter. He was very complimentary.
4. Enjoying half an hour of me time reading on my kindle
5. Yummy HM herby pancakes filled with bolognaise and topped with cheese for dinner and there was one left for my lunch today
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Fed up with this - post has just disappeared 3 times on the trot and I have to go out.
1-5. Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!
1[a][c][d]e[] I have hot water at last, after a fortnight without.
Skint, kitchenbunny and purple kitten - I'm sending lots of freed-up relief feelings your way if they will help.
Any others needing same, please grab a handful en route.
Frith - echoing others' words. You are more and more sufficient with these rehearsals and thus burnished, will attract THE ONE, who - even as we speak - knows that YOU are out there somewhere, the life-share woman for him.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello
TILAMS:- Good luck with the scan.:)
VJsmumm: Chicken slop... deliishhh.:rotfl:
DD:- That is fantastic, Happy 25 Year silver Anniversary to you both.:D
OT;- Going to have to think of hen names now, OH was not very helpful with some unpolite ones, a friend of ours called one of her's "cassie" short for errr casserole...
I slept last night but it was a bad sleep one of those where I went through all that had been said at hospital in my sleep and I had one ear open for the phone, I’m shattered, as is DH.
I think the more time that is passing the better the outcome hopefully, he’s far more with it today.
Some pleasures
1.DH loaded up and sorted the new freezer, I love it as I can see what we have at a glance and it makes cooking inspiration ideas a lot easier.:p
2.We did a tip run with all of the bits that have been sorted the past few weeks.
3.We stopped in at Wickes as they have an offer on concrete and picked up enough to make the shed base / but have to go back for sand.
4.Dug up some rose bush seedlings from the front shared hedgerow, as neighbours drive and house is being totally overhauled. I’ve resorted to some painkillers:o as the tree surgeons are in next door, no rest for the wicked.0 -
