Probably b'cos of the poor training they are getting. PMed couple of the Reps to state how they calculate the pro-rating of line rental, but they keep ignoring my PMs.

But the Reps are good for onething, they will ignore your post if they don't know the answer or don't have any explanations

My apologies, 12pm Friday to 12pm Sunday is correct, thanks for pointing that out to me.

It seems like I am currently out of contract, are there any better offers available to me at a more competitive rate, possibly even within BT?

No one can answer that without knowing your call requirements, since it appears you are already on the wrong tariff for your particular call usage.
Best broadband deals will depend what exchange you are on and what LLU operators are available there.

BT do offer discounts on BB and landline rental if you agree to renew for 12 or 18 months.

I'm currently paying half price for BB and £9.25/month for landline after having phoned them.

However, the basic excess cost you appear to have is calls. Are you using 18185 for your daytime and mobile calls?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

No I am not using 18185.

I use my phone line primarily for broadband access, and with a small number of calls each month as well.

My recommendation would be to use 18185 for all calls which are not 'free' under your BT calls plan (I expect that's all except weekend calls).

You must be making more than a 'small number' of calls, or you would not be geting excess charges of over £13. If these are for daytime calls, then you need to switch to an Anytime tariff, which is about a fiver more.
