Just to let people know, this is "powered" by Outnow aka Mymoviestream, so obviously if you've had a trial with them you can't have another with Lidl. Plus they hardly have any DVDs in stock as well lol.Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive0

If they are indeed powered by mymoviestream, avoid them like the plague! Just doing a search on them will tell you why - but in a nutshell, they ignore cancellations, but don't inform you - then suddenly, months or even over a year later, they'll take a massive payment from your card to cover the interim.
Dodgy as hell, and their customer service is non-existent.0 -
i did a mymovie stream awhile ago
what a pile of poop they wereThere is a Money Saving Expert quidclan, next time your on quidco have a look for it0 -
Tried most of these dvd rental services, including Lovefilm (started ok, then downhill), Outnow (pretty darned good - and no problems at all), Blockbusters (bit disappointing), and a couple of the "powered by" websites.
Only time i had probs in the past when was I didn't bother sending back lost dvd forms to lovefilm and they tried to charge me - but I won the argument in the end :-)
Comments from other MoneySavers are often useful, but I like to try things for myself... so now trying this new Lidl movies one.
Early days yet, but seems very good indeed so far. 8 discs in about 3 weeks, including a couple of top choices, so fingers crossed it carries on like this0 -

Does anyone else think this is posted by a newbie from Outnow! Bad mouths others and heaps big praise for Outnow and then says he is doing the Lidl trial but surely if he has done the outnow trial he cant do the Lidl trial.
As for getting 8 discs in 3 weeks all I can say is wow must be very obscure DVDs that no-one else had ordered, I only had 1 DVD in 2 weeks, then they charged me after I cancelled. In my opinion What a load of RUBISH and never ever get conned on any freebie gift they offer for signing up as 9 out of 10 times it never turns up. AVOID!!! Why have Lidl signed with such a bad company?if i had known then what i know now0 -
To be fair, I used them (when they were mymoviestream) for a free trial, cancelled no probs. Then used them again as outnow and using them again for a 2 month free trial now I've moved - just started today.
The selection isn't as up to date as BB and LF and today the 2 films I've been sent aren't in my top priority list but I still want to see them and they're free.
Indeed other MSE comments are invaluable and I will be vary wary when cancelling but I haven't had any trouble personally from them before, though I know others have had a complete nightmare.
In all honesty though, if I were paying, not tarting, I would prob go with Lovefilm but happy nonetheless to use outnow for the moment.
hth,
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!0 -
Have just told my sister about them as she is looking to switch from "LoveFilm" so thanks to the OP for posting this
She has just signed up, so will let you know how she gets on.Official SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090 -
My sis registered yesterday afternoon, they emailed her yesterday to say 3 discs had been posted out.
Hurrah! They landed on her doormat a few moments ago. She is recovering from an operation and is off work while the stitches heal poor thing is sick of daytime TV, so at least she has something to amuse her for the afternoon.
So far she is very impressed... :TOfficial SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090 -
I had an email from Lidl informing me of the 30 day free trial so tried to sign up.
It rejected my card so tried 2 others and it did the same thing. All the card are active and in credit.
I have had previous trials with Lovefilm and blockbusters but not this company.
I have emailed them twice over the last week to ask why it would not let me sign up and had no response.
Think I will give them a miss0 -
Signed up a week ago and got films (3) 2 days later.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).
