I am disgusted by all you people eating Corned Beef!! It is unhealthy and not at all good for you... I suggest you make up all of your corned beef into a parcel and have it delivered to me by courier immediately!!
I will eat it to keep you all safe...
As to the question, I have just been given a 2.27kg catering tin and was wondering what to do with it. Now I have no excuse just to sit and eat it all!!! Dam this site and all its good advice!!0 -
my mum used to make us corned beef and potato pie when we were kids not had it for years will need to make it.
Basically boil some potatoes cut a tin of corned beef into cubes mash the corned beef and potatoes together till combined, you don't need to add any milk or butter as you normally would in mash.
Tip into an oven proof dish and sprinkle grated cheese over the top the some sliced tomato, put in the oven at about 190 until the cheese is nice and meted and the tomatoes are just coloured.
She used to serve it with baked beans and cabbage but it would be nice with anything.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

We used to have corned beef pie too. Either as a plate pie with pastry (so like a big pasty) or the same mixture made into patties and fried. Mmm!
The recipe was slightly different: a chopped onion added to the potatoes when they're boiling and sometimes a bit of dried thyme mixed in with the mash.
The pie was excellent as a 'high tea' with pickles and salad. The patties/rissoles I love with loads of peas.0
