  • Not keen on those Fun Size Apples though as I found them a bit tasteless to be honest.

The ones in our store were a variety called 'Empire', which are best avoided IMO (along with 'Red Delicious').

  • not one of the six but in my aldi they had baby plum tomatoes for 29p which i thought was a great price :)
  • It appears that it depends on the variety they are selling which might be worth checking when buying any of their apples. I guess the same goes with most food stuff Aldi sells.

I thought their red apples were OK the last time I bought them (I think they were breaburns) and thought they were sweet in flavour. I actually thought they were better than supermarket ones.

It's always a good idea to check the variety before making a purchase I suppose.

Picked up a cabbage today - well its more a large sprout than a cabbage but considerably cheaper than those in Morrisons.

Went in this morning, not 100% sure but I think these were this weeks:

    Carrots 29p (1kg)

    White seedless grapes 69p (500g)

Blueberries 69p (needless to say they had none of these left)

Maris Piper potatoes 69p (2.5kg bags?)

I think the others were red apples and sprouts.

Not sure what type the apples were but don't think they were Royal Gala, they had really green bits, think I have tried them before and they were a bit sharp.
  • The red apples in my local ALDI were braeburns, looked nice but haven't tried them yet (59p for 6).
