o2 LLU in Hastings NDHAS

Really hoping that BE/o2 LLU service will be expanded in Hastings NDHAS exchange, as its currently full!! Looking to purchase Broadband in December. Only other options are Plusnet and Orange that are accepting new connections. I won't touch Orange!! Most people say plusnet (BT owned) are very good. Any recommendations or does anyone have any inside info on whether full LLU services at exchanges ever get expanded or re-open?

TalkTalk or Sky are your only other LLU options on that exchange.

Don't know about inside info but my local exchange, NDCAN, did get expanded by O2 back in february.

It was full to overflowing, the download speed in the evenings used to go down to a snails pace, thankfully thats now been rectified, so there is definately hope for your exchange capacity being increased, I'm sure O2 don't like turning away potential customers.
  • Plusnet have an LLU service on my exchange, so I might just have to go with them. Shame really as I have an o2 mobile and can get the £7.34p/m unlimited deal.

Don't think Plusnet offer LLU, as they're owned by BT and run on the BT Wholesale network? However since it's a Market 3 exchange, Plusnet Value @ £5.99 will still be cheaper than O2. And don't forget the £28 Quidco cashback.

  • so how come the £5.99 and £15.99 packages from Plusnet are only available on certain exchanges - suggesting its a LLU service?
  • After doing some research, it looks as though Plusnet did a deal ages ago to use some of Tiscali's LLU, so it would seem the areas that can get the £5.99 permanently are on a LLU.

The £5.99 deal applies to Market 2 and 3 exchanges only. By definition, M2 and M3 exchanges must have at least one LLU provider on them, but it wouldn't necessarily be Tiscali. Most Market 2 exchanges these days are more likely to have TalkTalk as their sole LLU provider than any other...though this deal was long before CPW took over Tiscali.
