Windows 7 pre order not arrived

It's down to Microsoft, not JL. They said at the time that offer was launched that stocks were limited.
Limited stocks not the issue. Stores would not have sold more than their allocation of the subsidised stock. They would make losses if they over sold the offer.
The shortage of stock is most likely a supply error. Could be either JL or MS but my contract is with JL.0 -
But, as has been posted again in this forum only today, in case of a breach of contract, an acceptable remedy is to refund the money. Which JL have already offered.
But they might offer you something as a goodwill gesture to make up for having wrongly debited your account. Why didn't they reverse the charge when you complained about it, instead of it still being uncorrected two months later?
I did not know 2 months ago it should not have been debited. I found out this weekend when I went to a second JL store the other end of the country (visiting friends) to see if they had copies of the software. The original store never owned up!!0 -

Well now is your chance to point it out and complain. I would make the most of it if I were you. If you draw it to their attention, taking care to sound like a reasonable but sorrowful customer, and at the same time remind them that you have also been let down on the estimated date of delivery, who knows, you may get lucky.0 -
I didn't know about the limited no. of preorders :S.
And for stuff like software (and gaming items but that's another story) JL doesn't get allocated as much stock as other shops because they don't have as much market share.0 -

I don't remember anybody at work mentioning that, or getting any emails from head office in the department about it, or, indeed anything other than an email on the 22nd listing which pre-orders were still yet to be fulfilled (mine being one of them) and all of them being people with orders for more than one.
I shall have to clarify in work tomorrow.0
