SIM Only Contract?
Does anyone have any idea as to where the cheapest SIM only deal is?
Will I be better off getting a free phone and selling it, as I will have the contract for at least a year anyway.
I need about 250-300 Minutes and 100-150 Texts.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

o2 and voda do contract sim only tariffs.
IMO o2 is slightly better value as multimedia messages (1 MMS = 4 SMS) and 0845, 0800, 0870 numbers are included in your allowance.
For £30 you will get 400 mins and 1000 texts.
I can't see the point of taking out a new contract to sell the phone as the sim only deals are far better than many 12 months contract deals (even after you have sold the phone). The 18 months contract are better but 18 months is a long time IMO.0 -
Basically what I was going to say. I wasn't aware that Vodafone did SIM only contracts though.
Online 200 (£30 for 400 mins and 1000 texts) is very good value for money if you are looking to spend that much. In all fairness, if that's what you were looking at spending, it offers about 5 times as many texts you would like, but at least they are there to use if you need to. And if you don't like the tarriff, you can cancel the contract after 1 month, instead of being tied in for 12 or 18 months.
If you want to make a fast buck by getting the contract and selling the phone on ASAP, then it isn't a bad idea as long as you get a desirable phone, get it unlocked and manage to get a decent amount of money for it.
But like jimmyjim says, it can be a lot of hassle when you get a better deal on a SIM only contract.0
