csa arrears

hi my hubby has always paid csa through direst debit and never failed to miss a payment for the last 2 years, apparently on mar 23rd his ex asked for a review and 2 weeks ago theyve told him about it and that he now owes 901 in arrears we cannot understand how they have come to this figure as his payments from march 23rd through to now have rose by 13 per week and also his d/d did not come out for this month (as csa said their d/d system only ran for 12 months) so he has now paid off this months but we still figured out that his arrears should only be roughly 400ish from mar-oct even the csa case worker couldnt figure out where all the extra money had come from ( and it was agreed with her supervisor that the arrears we're wrong ) now today we have had half a phone call which cut out stating that the arrears we're correct but before we had a chance to ask how the phone went dead (same case worker who agreed they was wrong last week). we have asked for a breakdown of these figures which have yet to appear.not only are we angry that we was not informed about this in march but we cannot seem to get any answer to the arrears they have seemed to have plucked the idea out of thin air has anyone any idea who we could speak to as the csa case worker has changed her mind even tho the figure was agreed with her supervisor as being a wrong arrear amount?
regards for any replies
(ps he had a review in nov of last year then mar this year so no arrears owing from that time neither anytime before that)

hi to anyone that can help we have just had the csa on the phone again before it yet again cut off and they are now saying that 167 of the 901 arrears are because they didnt take out the direct debit this month (their fault they did not collect it d/d is still set up bank have confirmed its not been collected by them their end) they called it maintenance rescheduling for payments halfway through the month??? !!!!!! is this correct can someone HELP??always send a smile as it costs nothing..

Why does the phone keep cutting off?
Before I was banned from phoning the CSA and their staff were banned from phoning me I never ever had the phone cut off apart from when I started calling them incompetant, waste of space etc etc but they terminated the call rather than it just cutting off. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
i dont know today its because we was in the car bad signal now she just put us on hold and then it went dead grrrrralways send a smile as it costs nothing..

Perhaps you could make the effort to phone the CSA from a landline? Possibly a phone box if you dont have a house phone?
Surely its much easier to do that so you can be connected and be in a position to discuss the matter? When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
we havent got a landline and im not feeding a phone box loads of money that we cant afford she was on the phone last week for 32 mins imagine that in a phone box!!always send a smile as it costs nothing..

I too have had to spend money on phone calls to the CSA, but the way I looked at it, I needed to sort out the sitation and the best way to do it was speaking to them by phone so I had to take the hit. Good on the CSA for making reasonable attempts to contact you, at least they cant be blamed for not communicating. It wasnt their fault your mobile lost its signal. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

its hasnt lost signal tho....and to call a 08 number from the mobile will cost a tidy sum...but cheers for your help! what i wanted to know was what is this 167 they claim they can claim for not claiming the d/d this month even tho they admitted it was their fault... can someone else be more helpful please?always send a smile as it costs nothing..

OMG Ive never heard of anyone who has dealings with the CSA who doesnt know what office is dealing with their case. If you knew Id have looked up a normal number for you to save you dialing a Non geographic one. Would have been cheaper from your mobile. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0
