The offer of 12 issues for £1 - seems to be for renewals only
however
here is an 8 issues for £1 deal: https://www.subscribeonline.co.uk/bbc-magazines/subscription.cfm?mag=RTLA&cmp=RTBUY09
Edit October 2010 - the above link still works but there's a 12 issue for £1 link:

I did the 12 issues for £1 this morning on a new subscription and it went through ok. When you click on 'Buy subscription for me' (I think that's what it said!) you have to scroll down the page to get to where you fill your details in. Took me a few tries before I realised that :rotfl:0 -

Thanks for all the thanks!
My second issue has now arrived, the direct debit has been set up & is showing on my account but I've noticed that they still haven't taken the £1 as yet.
I know it's obvious but don't cancel the direct debit until they've taken the quid!
When I did this last year I cancelled the DD two weeks before the subscription ended and advised them by email that I wished to cancel, no problem.0
