Help with flights to Thailand -(Biz Class)

Kenny_Powers wrote: »Donnie you don't know what you're talking about.
Thai had lie flat beds when i flew with them (although not level iirc) The food was great, the service superb and the IFE was excellent.
Better than Virgin, Singapore, Swiss, Lufthansa, Cathay, China (Airlines) and BA. (not flown biz with the others you comment on)
But don't talk to me about Eva air! Having flown extensively with airlines across the Far East i can honestly say you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
That is exactly what I have written. I don't consider those sloping seats as adequate.
I do like the way that you like to twist your words, but it has not gone unnoticed.
There is a difference betwwen a "lie flat" seat and a "flat bed" seat. THAI have "lie flat" seats, but they are not the same as a flat bed.
With "lie flat" seats, your body is sloping downwards. Only the material of the seat stops you slipping downwards.
If that is a "lie flat" bed to you, it is obvious that you don't know about what you are writing.
So we are agreed now that they don't even have flat beds in Business Class.
So, how does that make their product better than all of the ones that do?
The seat is just inferior to most of the other major airlines. It's a simple as that.
In addition, since I mentioned BA, is that you(as Honeymooners) can have two seats together in such a way as to have a semi-private cubicle or coccoon). No such possibility with THAI. Just bog standard sloping seats.
Now, please explain to us how THAI Business Class isBetter than Virgin, Singapore, Swiss, Lufthansa, Cathay, China (Airlines) and BA. (not flown biz with the others you comment on)
Is it the quality of the seat? Because that has been disproved without doubt.
Quality of the IFE? Their seat has only one TV screen, compared to two in many of the others.
Seat pitch? BA has a 73" seat pitch, THAI has 60".
Amenity kit?
Please, tell me where THAI is superior to BA when it comes to Business Class.
Facts only please.
As to my mentioning EVA, I wrote that THAI's Business is better than EVA's Eite. But certainly not in the same class as some other's Business Class offerings.
So, I am awaiting your factual reporting, as I have actually flown on "Flat Bed" seats on all of the airlines that I have mentioned(apart from EVA). Not "lie flat", but Flat Bed....with up to a 78" seat pitch.
Take a look for yourself; Beginning with THAI's new seat:
Next, BA's new seat:
Now take a look at BA's old seating:
It's a ten year old design now and still superior to what THAI are offering now.
Don't try to blag your way through this. I've actually travelled in these cabins, not just walked through them.
Here is a link to the BA 'Honeymoon' seating to which I earlier alluded: BA 'Honeymoon' type seating
Note the sliding shutters at the sides for more privacy if necessary.0 -
I must be an exception here - I prefer the slightly angled seats to lie flats! Having said that, I also prefer sleeping on my sofa to in a bed!
DKLS, BA have a premium sale starting tomorrow - would be well worth a look!Gone ... or have I?0 -

Are you a man or a woman? As a man, the angled seats (only travelled in Lufthansa) were ok....but as you slide down the seat "things" tend to get caught up and you need to constantly adjust.....or wear skintight silk boxers. I ended up not with the flat layout but with the knees raised up higher so i wouldn't slide. Comfortable, but no substitute for a horizontal.
My other half loved them, no such worries.0 -
Donnie,
(Cant quote your post because im not allowed to post links)
Just because you get all aggressive in your post doesn't mean that you are right.
You have based your entire argument (just about) on whether the seat lies flat (as in horizontal) as to whether it is better or not.
In your first post you claimed Thai didnt lie flat, then when you realised you were wrong you start getting all aggressive. Calm down, i understand that you might normally be presumed to be right but on a public forum people have opinions. And mine differs from yours.
You might get a wet patch in your pants over BA and i agree, their seats are good. Although not as good as Virgins - But Virgin were better when you used to be able to remove the centre separation thingy. But for me BA is crap. The attitude is surly, arrogant and obnoxious, on the 4 or 5 times ive flown them the food has always been mediocre and service extremely intermittent.
Virgin are great and the airline i fly most with, but the food is lacking and often is difficult to fathom out what it is. Another huge problem with VS is that in Upper you get a lot of 'first timers' and so the atmosphere tends reflect that.
For me the best business was Swiss, the food was excellent, service perfect and IFE great. Those seats weren't even the ones which lay flat. Remember the old business class seats? Those.
The fact is for me business class is more than just the seats. Its everything that goes with it, now you can strop as much as you want, but Thai came up trumps in my humble opinion.
But can i suggest you take heed of your own advice and next time you are walking through Business to get to your economy seat maybe you should try the buttons to see what it really does0 -

I'm a woman, but don't seem to slide at all. I do have sympathy - my boobs get in the way whatever I am doing! I just find flat a bit too ... flat?Gone ... or have I?0 -

What are on you about Kenny? Aggressive?
What I actually wrote was:What are you talking....? Do they even have fully reclining flatbed seats in Business Class?
You do know the difference between "lie flat" and "flat bed" don't you Kenny?
Basing my entire argument on whether the seat lies flat?
I think that I have made quite a few more points that that.
Now all of a sudden the best was Swiss?? What happened to THAI??
How come you haven't mention the best service and the biggest beds in Business Class; Singapore Airlines?
BA Club World is crap?? That just shows that you lack objectivity. The product is superior in every way to THAI.
I will agree with you about the food in Upper Class, it was a disappointment and the service on BA being....unremarkable. But the product is miles ahead of the THAI offering as are most other major airlines.
Don't try to dismiss the facts as aggression or try to misquote me.
The fact is that THAI are NOT the best Business Class product to Thailand by a long chalk. That's the truth.0 -

Yeah one is flat and horizontal the other is flat and at an angle. Now all of a sudden the best was Swiss?? What happened to THAI??
Swiss had the best product. Ive never flown Swiss to Thailand, only Northern Africa and the USA.How come you haven't mention the best service and the biggest beds in Business Class; Singapore Airlines?
I thought Singapore were very average. Although ive only flown them twice.BA Club World is crap?? That just shows that you lack objectivity. The product is superior in every way to THAI.
In your opinion. I never had a single problem in 'slipping down'Don't try to dismiss the facts as aggression or try to misquote me.

Sorry, you can only post pics once you've got 20,000 posts ... honest!
You'll get used to Donnie. If you disagree with him you are wrong by default, you are only allowed an opinion if he shares it. He will now follow you around disagreeing with you just for the sake of it. Don't worry, you're not alone!
