Lloyds Direct Debit Transfer

Options
The problem: since transfering my account to Lloyds TSB from Barclays using there direct debit transfer scheme, I have now missed two payments of my Dell finance (incuring £15 charge each time, when i only pay £12.04 a month) and also one for Argos (again incuring a £15 charge)

Do I have a case to make a complaint against Lloyds TSB for not properly transfering these direct debits to my new account?

I have since paid my accounts up to date, including the charges, and set up new direct debits with both dell and argos, but again Lloyds have rejected the dell payment when there is plently of money in my account.

Will this have an adverse effect on my credit score? As I am trying to sort myself and it out and the only reason that I changed banks was to "start afresh".

Also when I was applying for my account the bloke I was with almost complete the app (after the credit search) and then he closed the application by mistake and had to start again, this shows as an extra search of my credit file, is there any way of having this removed?

any help and or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You're probably best making a written formal complaint if branch are unable to resolve the matter. Although you should consider the following: Lloyds TSB can only request the Direct Debit Originators update their details - if they do not then I'm afraid LTSB cannot be held completely to account. The DD Originators are under no obligation to follow the instructions of a 3rd party acting on your behalf.

However, I would imagine, being new business, that they are going to try and avoid loosing your custom, so may offer any charges (i.e. from Dell and Argos) back as an ex-gratia payment. If branch don't do this, like I've said, put your issues down in writing, below is a link explaining the official complaint procedure:-

Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.
  • Just a bit of an update,

I wrote to Lloyds at the back end of last week and last night I received a letter says that they have looked into my complaint and do not agree with it, HOWEVER

As this was not my fault they are refund all the charges that I have incurred and will be speaking to their creidt reference agency to get any black marks removed. (this is what I had requested in my letter)

Seems a bit odd that they would settle this very quickly, am I missing something? Any help on this would be great.
