* the local town is nice for a look around & a cake & coffee
* yours sons regiment will have a families office with a cafe in so you could pop in there
* the Linc is in St Barbara Bks & has the Hive in so you can pick up loads of local info there
* Walsrode is a nice place for a look around & really close by
* there also might be some chritmas markets started locally by mid november so that would be worth your son checking out
Just dont forget your passes so you can get in & out of camp freely
Hope you have a nice time xxx
agree with this. Also there are some nice restaurants around both Fally and Walsrode.
Both Hamburg and Hannover are not too far away and then there is Bremen too.
hope you have a nice stay.Bargain BoyNo amount of money is worth more than good health0 -
Hi
We were in Hohne which isnt too far from Fally.
No. 1 - take good thick clothes it gets VERY cold there. We had it -21 one year:snow_laug
Make sure you have an E111 which is the european medical card and YOU CAN use the military medical centre so long as you have this. As per your visitors permit this allows you to use the facilities.
I'm sure your son has a BFG registered car which unfortunately I do not for 100% know if you will be able to drive. Please check this before you go as you may not be insured to drive it.
There will be plenty of christmas markets around which are FAB!!
Have a great time but prepared to be frozen!!Life is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:0 -
Thank you all for your replies.
We fly tomorrow and am packed for the cold and have also packed our E111 cards.
I am starting to panic a bit though because son has been told he is working in Sennelager this week and next so he will now not be around in the week. only home at the weekend and will have to work late on Friday due to a massive workload (he is now very disillusioned after the move to Germany). He has arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport and drop us at the accomodation. Can anyone clue me up on what to expect from the flat we have 'hired'?? It is a welfare flat on the camp.
My son has not had time (due to massive workload) to BFG his car (and he is in bother for it) yet, but he did tell me the insurance was for any driver... I will double check this especially as I am dreding driving on the other side of the road. This is starting to turn into a nightmarethat is going to last 8 days!!!

And you are only entitled to PHC not secondary or for scripts if we do not hold the medicaton then the cost will be to yourselves,0
