short broadband contract

I'm moving into a new flat and would like to have a new broadband connection.

I know Virgin.net offer a service with no contract, however as I need to cancel after month 4, they would charge me £50 due to a fee from BT apparntly.

However, just come accross freeola.com and noticed they did a 3 month trial at £9.99 with no cancellation charges.

Does anybody have any experience of them?

Thanks

I've just signed up with them myself. I'm planning to migrate to a new provider soon after the trial ends (I'm using them to avoid a paying connection fee elsewhere), so am in a similar situation. I won't be connected until next week, so I can't comment on the service, but they are resellers for entanet, who seem to have a good reputation.

Enta do have a good reputation.

I've gone through the terms in detail because I've assumed there must be a catch but can't see one?

It'll cost freeola about £70 + vat to install a new line and deliver the service for 3 months or £40 + vat to migrate you. Given you're only paying about £25+ vat you may have to feel slightly guilty when you leave them :)

Just a word of warning. I have just signed up with them myself (3 months trial at 14.99 for a 8 Mb/sec ADSL). They have a very bizzare arrangement with Entanet, who provides billing for Freeola. You pay the first month online using a debit/credit card form, when signing up. However you are then required to setup a Direct Debit with them (although it is actually Entanet, that you set this up with, but its not clear at all).

This can only be done using their form that gets posted to you, when you get your 'welcome pack' (although it seems, its possible over the phone too). They want the Direct Debit setup and in place within a week of signing up, even though you have already paid for the first month.

It looks like ours form got lost in the post, as they claim they never got it. a week later we were cut off from internet. Freeola Support has no access to the accounts, so when I called them - after returning from holiday - I was told there is nothihng they can do, as I have to ring Accounts (Entanet), which are closed till Monday.

Monday comes, I call them and complain about the lack of connectivity and the lady gives me a lot of crap about them being two seperate companies and that they have nothing to do with Freeola - great!
Thats when I gave the debit card details over the phone.

No apologies, no extra time no nothing, just a heartless greedy company, never mind the fact, that we done everything as they wanted it.

So - you been warned (going to leave them as soon as possible)

At least you'll get the last laugh though - as they'll have had to fork out for your connection charge :D
