Strange question - Text Meaasges
Options
Hi
I wonder if somebody would be able to answer the following question please?
I have a contract phone with Orange, i have unlimited texts. When you send a large text message my phone asks if I want to send 2 SMS, what I want to know is do Orange charge you for the 2nd message? I know its an odd question, but when I've looked at my bill online i seemed to be getting charged for some texts which I can't understand as I have unlimited messages!
Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm just wondering why I am being charged and this is the only reason I can think of!
Thanks
Janninew

Yes, every (I think) 128 letters is another text. So a message of 129 letter will be 2 texts.0

if you have unlimited texts like i do on O2 then it doesnt matter if you send one text or 2 if the message is to long and it goes into 2 txts then its just 2 txts l.. you shouldnt get charged for the 2nd txt i never do on O2 and ive send loads recently that have gone into 2 or 3 txts ..
if in doubt ring them up or pop into one of there local shops and ask themThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -

Thanks for that! Its just a bit of a mystery why I'm being charged for text messages when I have unlimited texts, its the only reason I could think of! I will pop into the shop next time I'm passing and double check!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Unlimited on most networks really means 3000, have you sent more than that ? (you must have flying fingers if you have).
Texts to some services don't come out of your bundle, so that might a factor ?0 -
Are they SMS or MMS? I don't think picture messages count as part of your free messages.0

Gosh not even close to that many! I have sent around 500 at the most. The texts I am being charged for are ones to my partner who is with Vodafone, I just don't understand why they are charging me for some!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

They are SMS, a message pops up on my phone checking that I want to send 2 SMS texts if it is a long message. That is why I though they may be charging me!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Might be worth checking with your network. Its possible that something in the network setting on the server is not counting the messages correctly.
You could note when you get the message the 2 texts are needed and then compare it to your bill and see if that's the days you're changed for a text. . .0 -

I think the message that pops up is probabaly something you can switch off in your phone's settings. my texts regularly go into two or even three, but I've never had a pop up warning. I'm on Orange too.
How about replies to competition entries or something like that? Can you go to your account online and see the numbers?0
