This is all part of the driving test nowadays and all in the owners manual!

Unless these get in the way there's no reason a woman shouldn't be able to do these things :)

I like!! :D No they will not get in the way, but my pregnant belly might!! There isn't a cat in hells chance that I would get on the ground and look under my car! I know women can do these things, but I don't know how to. I will ask my local garage to show me when it goes for its MOT next week!

Thanks for all that! I did think that 198.00 was alot for a service!

I have been looking online and there is a local independent garage that would service it for 68.00. I would also need to pay 12.00 for oil, 4.00 for an oil filter and 7.00 for an air filter. There is also something about a cabin filter? Not sure what that is? I know this garage has a good reputation so I think I will give them a go!

£68 for a service at an independant wouldn't be too bad, but that should include all the normal parts, oil & filter at least.
If they charge extra for this you are nearly up to the £99 Ford dealer price for older cars.

The cabin filter I think is a pollen filter, its purpose is to try and restrict pollen entering the ventilation system. I think Ford recommend replacement every 2 years ... but it doesn't affect the running of the car.
This may not be considered as normal service part so the extra charge could be expected.

However, they didn't mention the air filter? This would be more important (and would often be included as well as new spark plugs) as they do affect how the car runs.

It is a 1.3 engine, but I'm not sure about the endura part? I might see how it gets on with its MOT, see if it needs any work doing. Just a little concerned with winter coming up that its got everything it needs to keep running well! I am clueless about cars, the only thing I can do is make sure there is water in it to clear the windscreen! I have no idea how to check anything else!

There is absolutely no harm in getting a friend - male or female - to show you.

Otherwise for your own safety you should see if you can take a basic car maintenance course at your local adult education college. Due to cars have lots of electronic parts nowadays lots of colleges do day/weekend courses to show the basics.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Lancashire - Durham......... its not that far... :D

Janninew - strongly recommend (as before) you get the spark plugs removed and greased, and changed if need be. Can be a b*gger of a problem if they corrode in.

I'm really really annoyed. I've told Goldiespangles many many times to not put pictures of me on here and yet again he has disobeyed me. I'll have to have words with him - well, he's not getting anything else.......
