that beacasue your using a house phone as well as the hub phoneso the divert is disabled if you were just using the hub it would automaticlly divert your house calls to it as well

you can set it up so that house calls go on the hub go into the hub settings (ask bt customer care for help) and theres a sn option in there to set up the divert

Thanks, i'll have to try again. It is a handy thing though as my normal phone is an old 1970s reconditioned dial phone (retro style over substance :o ) and is of no use if you go through to a call centre and have to press hash/star/or any number! I also don't have a cordless phone so I can use it anywhere in the house or even garden.

Before making any calls using the hub make sure they are on the same tarriff as your other landline. A friend of mine got a bill of £250 + on call charges using the hub phone. The free weekend and evening may not apply to this
  • mine arrived last week but not set the phone up just the hub don't need another phone in the house
    will this be ok

Sorry to hijack this thread and ask things that have already been asked :embarasse

I am no doubt being incredibly stupid but after reading and re- reading these posts I'm still not sure I understand :embarasse

If we get a BT hub for a wireless broadband connection does the hub get plugged in to our one and only phone socket?
Is it possible to use this as a landline phone on our existing BT number and will other DECT phones (not BT) which are plugged into electric sockets only still work?
