i would get your stuff packed and move out. i would then change the name on the ticket to one of your mates and tell him to p*ss off
    I am a Travel Agent

My company’s ABTA numbers are P6046. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.
  • That was actually said to him last night - he said he was so p.....d off with everything he would go, so I told him to get a move on - the sooner the better. Doubt he will go though! And I am too stubborn to move out - if I did he wouldn't let me back in again and I'll not let that happen.

Tell him you've met a new man and you're still gonna go...

  • I daren't tell him that - he'd go ballistic!!!!!!!!!

Kenny, I have sent you a PM with the info.

    Thanks
  • I had to cancel a holiday earlier this year with about 3 weeks notice (medical reasons not covered by travel insurance). Although there wasn't much on Ebay, I put it on there with a reserve that basically meant at least we wouldn't end up any more out of pocket. (Something like the 10% I'd get back from tour op + the cost of changing the holiday details + enough to cover the ebay/paypal costs + about £20) I also put a BIN of about 75% of the original holiday cost.

I didn't get many questions/much bidding until the last 48 hours, but just as the bids started approached the reserve, someone used the BIN, so after all fees were taken into account, I reckon we ended up with just over 50% of our money back. I think this was pretty good in the circumstances, but we did have two things that probably went in our favour - it was an "unusual" holiday, and I had 200+ 100% positive feedback.

If I was you, I'd give it a go, asking for payment within 24 hours of auction end, leaving yourself enough time to grab the 10% from Thomson if it doesn't work.

    Good luck:o
  • Piggy-bank, Thank you for that feedback of your experience with a similar story. I had a look on ebay to see if there were any similar listings but there didn't seem to be any, therefore I assumed I might be wasting my time.

I will wait till I see what happens when he gets home tomorrow night (if anything!) as he is at the hospital tonight for his dialysis so I will be fast asleep by the time he gets in.

Thank you to everyone so far who has given me their thoughts and experiences. x
