Barclays- Sent letter requesting and received complaints questionnaire?

I sent the letter claiming the PPI charges for a loan taken out with Barclays a few years ago (using the template from here).
I have now received a PPI complaint questionnaire but nothing relating to the fact the last letter requested a refund.
Do I just complete this and return it and await a response or has maybe my letter been misunderstood?

Hi there
These are becoming a common practice now, however if the loan was taken out less that 6 years ago, realistically they should still hold the details on your account, but it may be that they no longer hold everything, where this is why they have sent the questionnaire.
It is up to you, you could write back and tell them you have not completed the questionnaire as you believe they should still hold the details of your account, and you also sent a letter and to refer to that, or complete it to the best of your knowledge.
They still have 8 weeks from the first letter.;)
Good luck with this and please let us know the outcome, cheers. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks for the reply, I have completed it as its fairly straightforward and is prompting for more info as to why it was mis-sold etc
I will also attach a copy of the letter originally sent I think with a breif note referring back to it again and see what where we get from there!0 -

I am in the same situation with barclays and was just about to post about it when i saw this post.
I sent them a letter in apil about wanting to reclaim my ppi. They then sent me the questionaire to fill in. I did this and have no heard anything since. I did send them a letter again about 4 weeks ago regarding this and still not heard a reply i was just wondering where do i go from here.

Hi Gem
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, going by your original letter, if you hear nothing you can take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can ring the FOS to arrange for them to send you the form or download and print the form from their website.

You could if you want to before you do this contact the bank just to ask when you you expect to hear from them.;)
They should be able to tell you, but don't let them talk you into anything, if they try - just tell them you only want to know when your expected to hear from them by writing, good luck and please keep us posted, cheers.

I got offered a loan in 2006 by Barclays - I have online banking and they offered me a pre approved loan - signed all the paperwork, sent it back and then told them I did not want the PPI, next thing I knew I got a letter from Barclays saying that they were refusing the loan - I rang them and they said that some new facts had come to light, so they would not give me the loan. We have a joint account and my husband asked them for the loan and it went through fine with the PPI - do you think I have a case for misselling?Titch

Hi there
Strange that but does not surprise me, I would give it a go, just as long as a successful claim have not been made, for example, sickness/unemployment etc.
For more info with templates, checklist of mis selling reasons, guidelines of reclaiming and so on, check the link below and ask for help if required, good luck.;)

I sent a letter to Barclays back in March 2009 regarding reclaiming my PPi on a bank loan. I too was sent a questionnaire to fill in. I didn't do this, however, on Thursday got a refund in my bank account for £4500 totally out the blue, no letter or nothing. Have also noticed on their website that they have withdrawn the PPi section on their loan page....interesting!0
