The Fusion pack says 4 blades should last upto 3 months.

I shave 6 times a week and use a small amount of Shave Cream from The Real Shaving Company and have no problems with a blade lasting a month.

Fusion razors are the only branded item I buy, they may be expensive but they give the best shave going, especially the vibrating ones.
  • I use the Fusion Power. A blade (well 5 blades per refill) last me about a month. The non-power option only lasted about two weeks with the same refills. I think the vibration of the power razor helps to clean the blades.

If you see me at the beginning of the month I may well have tissue stuck to my face.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.
  • Woah - i buy a pack of 6 Women's Gillette ones per month. I shave completely twice a week (thats legs, pits, and ahem down there) and maybe do armpits daily in the bath even if they don't need it cos i hate stubbly armpits...ewwww. So that is quite alot of area compared to just a beard shave for a man.

I can get away with using twice if lucky :( i think i might go and buy one of these fancy ones the guys are all raving about and see if they'll do better.

    Weird but interesting thread, lol!

Just to clarify....think I shave more (having inherited 'black forest' hair growth on my legs - thanks Mum!) so it's every day for legs and armpits and every other day for bikini line. BTW - tip given me by Boots staff if you prefer the look of your ladies' razor - with some makes the mens' blades will be interchangeable
  • I use an old fashioned safety razor - the shave is sooo much closer than a gilette. I change the blade every 2 or 3 shaves - when the blades cost about 16p each I'm not that worried about the cost of replacing often!
  • Don't use disposable razors - think of the environment!
  • I have found that women’s razor blades (the pink ones) are not as sharp as the Gillette disposable razors (blue) - the ladies razor lasts about 2 shaves and the Gillette about 5 to 6 shaves.... yet these cost about the same the difference was noticeable.

This might be of interest to Moneysavers, I read about it on Lifehacker - a blog collecting random info from around the interweb. Hope someone finds it useful although I have not yet tried it out myself. They have some really wacky ideas on there but you never know...

I had to use pink razors once. That was all that was left in the corner shop. I thought it was my imagination they werent as good but I only use razors once and toss them into the bin.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
