You will need to ask them for a MAC (Migration Authorisation Code). This will allow you to move to a new ISP for broadband provision. Some of the ISP allow you to specify a date when they will take up your broadband service (most don't however).
As most contracts require you to give 30 days notice. I suggest you get your MAC now and then supply that to the new ISP about 10 days before you due to reach the 30 days from the date of requesting the MAC. After migration your contract should automatically get cancelled, but best to check its been done, once you moved to the new ISP
Do NOT cancel your contract before getting the MAC, as you will not be able to get a MAC and will have to start from scratch with the next ISP (new setup cost etc..)
I ma just moving to Freeola (https://www.freeola.com), which have a 3 months trail offer. Also been with Freedom2Surf (https://www.f2s.com) which have been quite good too...
sorry this got a bit long - hope it helps0 -
Hi Servalan,
From the prices that you're paying, it sounds like you're on an unlimited product. I would recommend downloading netmeter and trying to figure out how much usage you require during a month.
From my experience, it seems that the vast majority accrue between 1GB and 5GB a month. However, there also seems to be a few who manage to do 200GB + a month.
Most ISPs base their packages on how much bandwidth you use a month, and I would recommend having that information to hand prior to signing up with a new provider. If your usage falls between 1GB and 5GB, you may be able to save money by signing up to a broadband provider who offers a usage allowance that fulfills your requirements rather than one offering an "unlimited" service.
Kind regards,

MAC codes are valid for 30 days after they're issued, so make sure you get your backside in gear once you get it!0
